Just a few issues with this product. The 1/4" bindings are tightly wound. Bindings out of the box come bound so tightly that they do not leave enough room for the mechanism of the binding machine to grab hold on them. This leads to pinching of the plastic when operation is attempted, as evident in one of the photos provided. A work-around would be to re-set the individual teeth of the binding. I've found this is less of an issue if you take each of the tabs and move them so that they terminate inside the loop instead of outside of it. This gives just enough clearance for the machine to grab onto, but does take an extra minute or two for each application. The bindings are also not uniformly straight. Some of the binding combs bow back away from the machine, while some twist their spine along their axis. Both can be solved by clamping the binding in place with your hands or with a book. Some newer machines might also already account for this kind of issue. I'm using an older revision of the GBC CombBind C100. Newer binding machines may be more tolerant with the issues presented.

This is one of the cheapest binders on Amazon. And it’s cheap for a reason. If you just have a few pages to bind, this will work for you. But the hole punch isn’t strong enough or sharp enough to punch thru a single sheet of thin (8 mil) plastic report cover. The paper guide is also a little flimsy so the paper can and probably will slide around when you punch the holes. I returned this and bought a Fellowes binder for twice the price, but that one works great!

It worked fine to punch the holes for binding however, the function to open the comb to place the punched documents in failed to operate. It didn't move far enough to open the binding comb at all (3/8 in. comb).
