This is really a nice bike rack. It is sturdy, lightweight and good looking. I mounted it on an adult small frame bike with the seat in a low position. The rack mounts to the support tube with two bolts that feed down through the tube from the top and are held in place with acorn nuts underneath the support tube. There was not much clearance between one nut and the tire and I was concerned the nut may rub on the tire during riding. I cut the bolt down about 3/8” and am now satisfied with the clearance. We’ve ridden about 65 miles with it so far with maybe 7 lbs of gear and it is holding up well. ... show more

While it’s easy enough to find longer M5x0.8 bolts, the side-to-side spacing of the bolt holes is too narrow.     • Well made, easy to install rack for light loads

This seat post mounted rack is light weight, rigid and easy to install. It bolts on to the seat post with four Allen bolts (Allen key included) and with the included rubber pads should fit a wide range of seat post diameters. the rack can be horizontally adjusted to sit right at the back of the seat or further toward the rear of the bike depending on personal preferences. Several caveats: the rack is designed for the standard seat post angle. If your seat post is less vertical than standard the rack maybe too close to the rear tire. The attachment bracket requires two inches of exposed seat post for the clamp. This means that it won't work if your seat is too close to the seat tube or with some shock absorbing sear posts. ... show more

Figured out for a fat tire bike you have to remove the support arms and remount from the outside, but they are too short to reach the down braces or the holes on the axle brackets.     • Rack for Dual Shock Bikes or Hard tail frames of a 2 piece frame, not ideal for 1 piece frames

Have a Dual shock 2 piece frame and learned the hard way of knowing now these frames not compatible with standard bike rack. The ones I need is this type for using this rack on a 1 piece bike frame will not work unless its about cosmetics of bearing little weight or you have to ease down speed over bumpy terrain. Using this rack on a 2 piece frame of dual shocks is more compatible of the rack having the suspension go with the seat post front part of frame. Easy as my cat would understand to hooking up. For the smaller seat post tubes, not for fat tire frames or bigger type of bikes. Only bad about the buy is how the shipping dept took out of original box to accommodate their schedules on their delivery drivers of putting in a bag with other orders . Not really the right thing to do for it signals to anyone coming across the bag of tossing it around. Not sure if that is legal to open original box as the box is part of the purchase and Amazon should of acknowledge or ask if its ok. Prodct was exposed to wear and tear no matter what it is made of. I now have to assume if the rack snaps or breaks while using, it will lead me back to how I received it from sellers. So hopefully not the CASE and all goes well for me and hopefully too I can get future orders of being in original packaging. ... show more

I read reviews that said extender screws had Philips heads, made for mesy installation. I was surprised to see that screws have allen heads and you get a wrench with the item.
