To move it out of the way, simply swivel back and forth to move the entire bike up against the wall. It is made of heavy duty metal and feels very solid. No shaking while on the wall. Very functional, sturdy rack at competitive price. Open/close and swivel are great space savers. As others noted, it doesn’t come with installation or operation instructions, but it’s mos straightforward. Point 1: the silver knob is a spring loaded pull that releases the arm from the closed/vertical storage position and the open/horizontal bike loading position. Point 2: I can’t imagine this install would last long with dry wall anchors - find a stud!

Again another Amazon product that came without instructions. I couldn’t figure it out and when I thought I did I still needed a second set of hands to help me install it. My husband was able to help out on one of the weekends but it was still confusing and difficult. Also I highly recommend finding a stud to install this bike rack. It’s not the most efficient in saving space due to how the bicycle stuck away from the wall. Maybe this style is a good fit for your space but it wasn’t for hours.

It does its job, build quality is good. My major complain is, there is no installation instructions, just a few pictures printed on the outside of the box. You have to do a lot of guessing to put it up, very easy to install it upside down because there is no indications or what's so ever which way should facing up. But the flip side is, the screw holes are symmetrical. So if you installed the wrong way, you can just unscrew it and screw it back on the other way, you don't need to drill new holes on your drywall. Also, don't expect to swivel your bike 180 degrees, because the pedal and hand bar will block the way. I would say 120 degrees (60 degrees on each side) at maximum depending on your bike.
