  • So Much Fun!
After years of yelling “On your left!” and “Coming through!”—only to startle people or leave them annoyed—I finally bought this bell. Honestly, as a walker myself, I know how jarring it can be when someone suddenly shouts behind you. But the gentle ding of this bell? It brings peace and even a little joy to walkers and runners alike. This bell mounts perfectly for serious riders. I average 32 miles a day at about 18 mph, and I honestly have so much fun with it. Sometimes I challenge myself to see how far away I can ring it and still get a response. Walkers will often wave back from over 100 yards away. Then, as I get closer, I give another gentle ring and I’m rewarded with another wave—or even a cheerful, “Thank you for the bell!” It’s also incredibly useful for blind corners. A quick chime has made oncoming riders slow down and approach cautiously, preventing more than one potential collision. And here’s my favorite part: when I spot another cyclist ahead, I get a little extra motivation to catch and pass them. Nobody expects a “serious” rider to be using a bell, and that little ding adds a touch of lightheartedness to the overtake—along with just a tiny bit of humiliation for them. Buy this bell. You won’t regret it. I look forward to hearing its pleasant chime as you pass me someday. Ride safe. ... show more

  • Well-Made Bell with a Weak Mounting Solution
The bell itself is solid — good construction, very simple and effective design. The sound carries well and can be heard from a good distance, which is exactly what you want in a bike bell. One of the mallets can be rotated 45 degrees. I’m giving it 4 stars because the mounting system is lacking. It uses a plastic tie to secure to the handlebars, but it doesn’t grip tightly enough. On my bike, the bell just spins around with even a light touch. I might try electrical tape underneath for extra grip, but that’s not an ideal solution for a new product. Great bell, but the mount needs improvement … at least for mountain bikes. Perhaps it was designed for 10 speeds. ... show more

  • Well designed bell. I would definitely recommend.
Very well designed bell. It was very easy to install. I am able to reach the bell from all 3 positions I ride in without removing my hands from the bars and the bell is plenty loud. They give you three zip ties which is great so you can remount it when you need to change the bar tape and the runner cover is super well thought out. I love the bell and I am sure all the people I pass on the trails will appreciate knowing I coming ... show more

  • You can ring my bell!
The media could not be loaded. What a great Little bell! Where I live, most of the roads are so narrow there's not even room to paint a white line on the right hand edge. Because of this I do a lot of riding on our local bike trails, so I am always encountering other cyclists or more often passing pedestrians. I generally just call out my approach but I have been thinking about letting a bell do the warning for me. Many of the bells I have looked at or heard on the trail don't sound very good, or they get horrible reviews because of the build quality. Neither of those appear to be the case with this little ringer! The tone is chrisp, clear, and has a long ring to it. The build quality appears to be good, however time will tell, but it's the engineering and ergonomics of it that I appreciate. This bell is designed to mount next to the brake levers on a road bike, but fitting it to the flat bars of a mountain bike was quite simple and it fit extremely well. Being that it is designed to mount against the handlebar tape of a road bike, I put a thin rubber backing on the bell before attaching it to the bare metal of my flat parts. This holds it in place much more securely and eliminates any possibility of the bell rotating during use. This could easily be duplicated with some electrical tape or even a fat rubber band. I love the looks of it, because it matches the black of my handlebars and everything else up front, and I like the sound. I really appreciate that this appears to have the sound, and the quality, of some of the bells I've looked at that are going for 50 and $60. To me, that's just insane. ... show more

  • clever design
With a dozen or so bikes in our household, I have purchased a wide variety of bells, from common types that were around in the 1950’s to exotic and expensive modern designs. Only about half of those work well enough that I would describe them as keepers. One major problem I have discovered is that many manufacturers falsely advertise their bells as suitable for typical road bike handlebars. That is not a problem with this EQIIO bell; it has a simple but flexible and effective mounting mechanism. The ring tone and loudness are not as nice as some of my other bells but it is good enough and I appreciate that they supply the type of zip tie that you can easily remove and reuse without fussing with a jeweler’s screwdriver or cutting it off. Weight-weenies will appreciate the light weight. ... show more

  • nice bell, fixes an issue with a similar bell by another brand
It's as though someone read my review of a basically identical bell (Ravemen Q3) and fixed my main complaint, i.e. the 180-degree adjustment mechanism not being secure. This EQIIO branded version of the bell somehow fixes the issue with the angle adjustment being much more secure without affecting the bell's operability or sound. The other difference between the two products, besides logos, is that the EQIIO includes only two re-usable zip-ties while the Ravemen included four. I previously had difficulty getting a double "ding ding" with these bells' conical striker, but with experience that is no longer an issue. The remaining issues with this bell are its higher than desired pitch, and that it can interfere with some of your hand positions (really your fore-finger position within a hand position), especially with shallow drop bars. If they could come up with a bell this compact with a lower pitched sound I'd probably give it 4.5 stars and round up to 5. ... show more
