Seems to be very solid and sturdy. It did come with 4 heavy-duty concrete anchors for mounting so that was a nice surprise. One piece of advice: mount it low enough so you have better leverage from above. Guy in the video mounts way too high. This will NOT cut logs. In fact it’s completely useless if that’s your plan with this tool. However if you use this for kindling as it’s intended then it works like a charm.

It took me maybe 15 minutes to process the same amount if kindling it would have taken about an hour to do using a hatchet and a hammer. I’ll admit that I was skeptical when I first got it, but I just put it up and gave it a go, and I was very impressed. This will be a huge time saver. I suggest holding it at the height you think you’ll like and operating the handle to find the ideal position.

Possibly good for pine, or other soft wood, but terrible for any other wood…unless you’re the Hulk. I sharpened the blade edge to be razor sharp, but well seasoned hardwood, at any length, is nearly impossible to split…small exception for short lengths. If you have fire place lengths, forget about it. Not worth the effort or money, unless again, you try it on soft wood. A small splitting axe, with the old method of drop splitting (holding the wood on the blade, then control the drop), is going to be much faster. Again, this isn’t worth the effort. I was hoping it would be. I gave it two stars because it is very good quality and well made.
