It took me maybe 15 minutes to process the same amount if kindling it would have taken about an hour to do using a hatchet and a hammer. I’ll admit that I was skeptical when I first got it, but I just put it up and gave it a go, and I was very impressed. This will be a huge time saver. I suggest holding it at the height you think you’ll like and operating the handle to find the ideal position.

This was not as advertised. If you watch the video, they really never show start to finish that they split a piece of wood. We found that the wood must be VERY soft otherwise it just slides down the blade as you are trying to split it. We tried to use it with old, dry cedar fence panels and it worked so so, but definitely did not work with harder woods.

This product arrived- it is the size and material described in the listing. Easy to use, and makes cutting logs into kindling very easy and predictable. We love the small sizes of the kindling, and it makes fires easier to start. Recommend you give it a try!

Seems to be very solid and sturdy. It did come with 4 heavy-duty concrete anchors for mounting so that was a nice surprise. One piece of advice: mount it low enough so you have better leverage from above. Guy in the video mounts way too high. This will NOT cut logs. In fact it’s completely useless if that’s your plan with this tool. However if you use this for kindling as it’s intended then it works like a charm.

Have this mounted at my woodshed where I go through a cord or more of wood per winter inside in addition to whatever I burn in the fire pit out back. Needless to say cutting down large pieces to kindling is a regular need for me. The first problem is this thing comes uselessly dull. Secondly, the allowable length of wood it accepts is far shorter than what a standard stove, or fire pit, takes so you’d need to cut down the standard log length to be able to fit it in this thing… and then sharpen it to be at all useful.

Very happy with this splitter. As long as you choose wood that is seasoned and has a relatively straight grain, this splitter makes easy work of breaking down a log into kindling.
