I have them on both sides of the bed to position myself in the bed. However, the handrail next to the wall could stand another set of elbows to position the grab bar a couple inches from the wall. It could also use another set of straight sections to fit very deep mattresses.

The rail was very easy to install. Just slide it underneath the mattress and it’s ready to use. I put a wooden board in between to stabilize it, but I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone who needs to put a lot of weight on it though.
