But function over form, I say, especially as it stands ready for my co-pilot when she's on board. I'm happy with the chair. It's super comfy and the poly wheels are a nice touch that has it roll super smooth. Width is good for a husky fella like myself. Cushion is great. I enjoy the slight recline of the chair back in it's normal position, but I did see that some don't like this so much. I'm also just tall enough (or long legged enough) that my legs don't have an issue with the depth of the seat. I did see that some others found this to be problematic. Case in point is my female companion, her legs didn't touch the floor, but the seat is big enough that she can sit cross-legged as she enjoys. My only slight annoyance is that I think the chair could be slightly lower but that's personal preference. I'm the guy in the office that drops the chairs in the conference room to the lowest position. An inch or two drop in the hydraulic to lower the seat might also help with the point above with the deeper seat. It was also super easy to put together as long as you know to loosen the arm bolts as you're putting the back in place, otherwise you're going to suffer some difficulty like is mentioned in the other reviews. Overall, I'm really happy with the chair. Caveat: I've only had the chair and been using it for 2 months so I have no clue how it will hold up, but it's rock solid and good materials. ... show more

I am here writing this review mainly because of the good customer service we received. We are disabled. The setup required someone to help us. There was a problem with the seat base not having a hole for an important screw that after assembly without that screw, proved very much needed for stability. The company was responsive and satisfied my request for a full or partial refund on the basis that I no longer have the help who assembled it, and it is too difficult to dissemble and impossible for me to repackage or ship. It is a very heavy chair and the assembly of the seat back to the base was very cumbersome. It took our strong helper about an hour to assemble. That the company was willing to resolve our issue was extremely helpful, since we do not have to worry about returning the chair. Without this problem, I feel the chair would be supportive and it is very big. However, I noticed my family member leaned forward in it, because the upper back is at an angle that does not fit the spine when sitting. It has the shape of a standing spine. It is fine for reclining back, but when sitting upright, there is not full upper back support because the back of the chair does not ergonomically meet the upper back like it does for the lumbar. Still, the quality of the chair overall is as good as you are going to get in the price range, and the quality of the pleather is better than on chairs where it does not seem likely that it will peel. Honestly, you take a risk ordering chairs like this online, so my review is to notify others that the risk is improved when the company is willing to get behind a manufacturing defect and provide a resolution that fits the needs of the customer. The seat base is plenty wide and deep for anyone wondering about a tight fit. My family member has very wide hips and weighs about 250 and are 5'11" tall (XXL Tall elastic waisted joggers). The chair is a good fit for the seat, but the instability without the screw hole in the seat to complete the square of the baseplate assembly is notable. The wheels are good, they are the kind of wheels you really want in a chair like this for carpet. Ours is shag. It rolls really well, but on smooth floor be careful because it this type of wheel rolls so smoothly that it can pull away as you try to sit down. ... show more
