The blanket is nice and soft and I like the pattern. The heat is good; I use 3 bars (out of 6) on the display and that's all I need. Any higher and my lap begins to roast. This is an "old style" blanket, so the wires can be felt and they are separated, leaving small areas that have no heat. For me, that's a total don't care, because they are close enough to each other that it works. The advantage to "old style" is that you don't have a massive brick of a power converter to haul around. This has the small controller that fits in one hand and weighs nothing. As with all electric blankets, how long it lasts is the big question - so far, so good after a few months. ... show more

I have purchased a lot of huge blankets throughout the years and trying to stay warm and most of them. Stop working after about a week or 2. But this one is the best by far. It heats nice and evenly and very quickly and is nice and soft and easy to wash and works all season long.

Warms up nice and hot. Can only sleep with three of six bars hot. Thin material so you need another blanket on top. I am 5'8 and it is short for me and the chord is at your feet so its a little in the way. I must emphasize that for the money its works good so i cant complain. If the light starts blinking and it shuts off, just unplug from the blanket and plug it back in. should keep working. ... show more

Bought one for me 1.5 years ago and about a month ago I bought one as a gift for my cousin in Massachusetts, during a freezing storm.she lives it! I like it because it is Light weight but warm. Its Durable, I've had mine over a year and a half, washed it everl times and it still looks new and works fine! Only con for me is the very edge has a thin wire but it does not conduct heat to the very edge. Not a deal breaker by any means as the warmth still radiates well. I love it! ... show more

    • Feels different than previous years
I had this exact same blanket from 5 years ago, and I loved it. Unfortunately, the cable for it fried and the blanket no longer works even with a new cable. I was so happy to be able to find this again, but this new version just does not compare to the old one at all. It doesn't get as warm, and the material seems to be stiffer than the old one I had. The way this one feels when you move it feels like one of those packaging paper that is use in shipments and just doesn't feel like a regular blanket. Very warm and heats quickly. Pretty pattern. BUT. If you are looking for a decently long cord from the throw to the remote...keep looking. The cord length from the remote to electrical plug is sufficient. The cord plugs into the blanket at the bottom middle which makes it difficult to keep the blanket in place. I AM FINALLY WARM. ALMOST DIDN'T BUY IT BECAUSE OF SOME OF THE BAD REVIEWS. NOT IN THIS CASE. THE BLANKET DOES WHAT IT SAYS. THE NAVY WITH THE SNOWFLAKES IS QUITE PRETTY. I AM ALWAYS COLD AT NIGHT. NOT NOW! I LIKE THE FEATURE THAT IT SHUTS OFF AFTER 12 HOURS. IT'S NOT THICK BUT WHO CARES, AS LONG AS IT GETS WARM. AND IT DOES. I USED TO HAVE MY HUSBAND TO KEEP ME WARM.
