  • Barely any cons! Very good and cute!
Color: 0.7mm Colored Lead Pencils Size: 6 Count (Pack of 1)
These pencils work great. If you like the combination of colored pencils and mechanical pencils, these are the ones to go. They are great for art, amazing for notetaking, and write smoothly. The refills can be found here on Amazon. They don’t come in this package, but the pencils already have a stick of refill in each. They are comfy to write with and yes, there is an eraser on the end! It erases perfectly well. The only issue with these pencils is that they break semi easily. But you shouldn’t be pressing too hard anyway! Use gently. The colors are red, orange, green, blue, and purple. And they appear pastel. ... show more

  • Worth the price
Color: 0.7mm Colored Lead Pencils Size: 6 Count (Pack of 1)
The good: The color is vibrant and you don’t need to go over lines again and again. The mid: Like the other reviews said the lead is fairly fragile and breaks easily. But it’s easy to avoid a break by moderating the pressure you use. I ordered these for note taking so I have no idea if they would be good for art or not. The bad: The eraser at the end of the pencil is terrible. Do yourself a favor and get a better eraser. ... show more

  • Finally found some colored leads pencils that won't break!
Color: 0.7mm Colored Lead Pencils Size: 6 Count (Pack of 1)
I love the clickers on these they click well, and they write very well in light or dark with minimum pressure. The lead doesn't break easily, which is what I have been looking for in these pencil leads. They feel good to color with, too, even when doodling. Their shades are really pretty and can almost even be pastel. They've written well and I tested them with a sketchbook paper swatch page that is just a heavyweight type of paper. I do wish these came with refills together with the pencils, but they come separately at least they do have refills because I am looking forward to using these as permanent colored pencils for colorful writing because I like colored handwritten printing to make writing more pretty and bold. Lead pencils are the nicest to write with for me because I like their fine, skinny, sturdy lead for writing in plain or colored lead. These pencils seem to be sturdy in their lead as regular lead pencil leads, 0.7 lead I use mostly. I do not use the eraser that comes on the pencils because I don't want to get it so low by erasing with it that it looks terrible and it'll get to a stump then I can't take the lead out properly because I end up taking the refill led and sticking through the bottom entrance where you write to refill the pencil. I have done erasing tests on these on the heavy-weight sketchbook paper with a hi polymer block eraser from Pentel, it erased these pretty well all that's left is very faint shades if you write dark, and if you write light then it seems to be completely gone, I tried to write dark and light to see both results at once. ... show more

  • My Take on BIC Velocity Colored Mechanical Pencils: A Traveler's Perspective
Color: 0.7mm Colored Lead Pencils Size: 6 Count (Pack of 1)
As someone who's always on the go, bouncing between Florida's sunny beaches and various travel destinations, I'm constantly looking for tools that make my life a little easier and more colorful. I picked up the BIC Velocity Mechanical Pencils with Colored Leads (0.7 mm) because I needed something versatile for both quick notes in my travel journal and sketching out ideas on the fly. My main expectation was to have a reliable, erasable colored pencil that wouldn't smudge easily and would hold up to being tossed in my bag. I wanted vibrant colors for highlighting and drawing, but with the convenience and clean lines of a mechanical pencil, especially since I'm often working in different environments. The Good Stuff (Pros) Honestly, these pencils have some really strong points that I appreciate, especially for my kind of use: Smooth Writing & Drawing: The lead glides pretty smoothly on paper, which is great for both writing and quick sketches. It doesn't feel scratchy, which is a big plus when you're trying to capture a thought quickly. Erasable Colors: This is a game-changer for me. Being able to erase colored lines without leaving a mess is incredibly useful, whether I'm color-coding my itinerary or just trying out different ideas in my journal. No more messy cross-outs! Comfortable Grip: The Velocity line is known for its comfortable grip, and these don't disappoint. Even during longer journaling sessions or when I'm sketching on a bumpy flight, my hand doesn't cramp up. Vibrant Enough for Most Uses: While some folks mentioned the colors being light, I found them to be decent for my needs. The purple, in particular, stood out as quite nice. They're not super bold like gel pens, but they're definitely visible and serve their purpose for adding a pop of color. The Not-So-Good Stuff (Cons) However, it's not all sunshine and rainbows. There are a few things that could definitely be improved: Lead Breakage: This was a bit of a bummer. I noticed the lead can break somewhat easily, especially if you apply a bit more pressure. This is a common complaint with mechanical pencils, but it felt a little more frequent with these colored leads. It interrupts the flow, which is annoying when you're in the middle of something. Pencil Mechanics: A few times, the mechanism for advancing the lead felt a bit flimsy or stopped working altogether after a while. It's frustrating when you have lead left but can't use it. Limited Lead Per Pencil: Each pencil only comes with one stick of lead. For someone who uses them frequently, especially the colors I favor, I wish they came with a few refills right out of the box. Color Vibrancy (for some): As mentioned, some colors are a bit lighter than I'd prefer for certain applications. If you're looking for really intense, dark colors, these might fall a little short. Value for Money & Practical Uses Considering the price point, these pencils offer decent value, especially for the convenience of erasable colored lead. For my travel journaling, outlining ideas, or just doodling to pass the time, they're pretty practical. They're lightweight, easy to pack, and having multiple colors in one pack is handy. I use them to highlight important details in my travel guides, sketch landmarks I want to visit, or simply add some flair to my daily notes. They're not professional art tools, but for everyday creative and organizational tasks, they get the job done. Did They Meet My Expectations? Overall, yes, they mostly met my expectations. I wanted erasable colored mechanical pencils for convenience and portability, and that's exactly what I got. The erasability is fantastic, and the comfort is a big plus. The lead breakage and occasional mechanical issues are drawbacks, but for the price, I wasn't expecting a premium art tool. They've become a staple in my travel kit, making my notes and journals a lot more engaging without the commitment of permanent markers. Final Thoughts If you're like me, someone who needs a practical, portable, and erasable way to add color to your notes, journals, or light sketches, these BIC Velocity pencils are a solid choice. Just be prepared for the occasional lead snap and maybe keep an eye on the mechanism. They're a good everyday tool, not a heavy-duty workhorse. ... show more

  • Finally colored pencils that won’t break!
Color: 0.7mm Colored Lead Pencils Size: 6 Count (Pack of 1)
Nice set of mechanical colored lead pencils. Our son how is going into 8th grade still needs colored pencils and normal colored pencils end up completely broken by the 3 month of school. Need to find another solution. These seem to be the right fit. They are durable, easy to use, they are the same weight as other mechanical pencils and are erasable. They write with a smoothness and even have a built in grip at the top. They seem to be worth the price, but time will tell. Only complaint is that the pack didn’t come with extra lead. ... show more

  • The lead breaks a lot!
Color: 0.7mm Colored Lead Pencils Size: 6 Count (Pack of 1)
I love the color of the pencils, but for some reason the tip disappears when it should not. The lead is automatic but if you click it as soon as you touch it the lead breaks. For the money they are cheaply made. Should be a lot more durable for a mechanical pencil. I will use them but will not purchase more. ... show more

  • Great pencil, fragile lead!
Color: 0.7mm Colored Lead Pencils Size: 6 Count (Pack of 1)
These are fantastic mechanical pencils. I’ve used the Velocity style for years. I use these for college planning. The eraser on these is so so. I’d recommend buying replacement erasers, for some reason the eraser in these is just odd, not sure of the material but it’s not the same as the regular Velocity erasers (unless it’s been changed recently). Now for the biggest drawback, the lead. The color is good, coverage is fine, durability is not good at all. I thought maybe people had these bumping around in backpacks or were just rough, NOPE, mine hang in pencil organizer. I’m super careful with them. They don’t get dropped, they aren’t bumped around, and yet I constantly have broken lead. One suggestion for BIC is these are .7 lead maybe making these in a .9 style would result in better durability. ... show more
