I was running it on 120v because of this smaller job. If you have something heavy duty, you should run it on 240v. I wanted a welder that would run on 120v, because I wanted to be portable to do a job anywhere. This certainly fits the bill. It's so lightweight and so small, you could put it in suitcase if you had to travel with it. It obviously was very simple to use. I got it out of the box and started welding with it and didn't even look at the instructions. I did have one setting wrong that I didn't realize immediately. It has all the parts to stick weld included. If you want to do the lift tig, you do have to buy an optional handle Model 17v. I might do that to learn how to do tig. The design and construction quality i think is excellent. The cables are very flexible and not stiff. The rod holder has a very strong spring to hold it in place. The one little knob it has to set the amperage, has little detents to stay in place and has a solid feel. I think this product is an excellent choice for a beginner or a seasoned welder, that needs a small portable device. I'd give it more than five stars If I could.

I was so excited to get this. This is going straight to my father in law for Christmas. He was impressed with my Bestarc stick welder and from decades of experience: my father in law is rarely impressed with anything. He is a hobbyist of many and always tinkering and building in his garage - he has limited space to work in so this unit is perfect! Its small enough to tuck away when he is finished. This unit is so easy to use; just take it out of the box and set it up. The dial is easy to read. This is a powerful little unit, do not be fooled. Make sure you have a good power source and it helps to have a good compressor to get the beauty of this machine.

My husband is a welder fabricator, so I can tell you that if you are looking for a full-time welder this is not going to be the tool for you. If you are looking for a very portable compact hobby welder this thing is going to do the job and then some. We really like having it around where we can easily transport it to the field to fix fence. It's nice that it works on 120 and 240. The stick weld function Works slightly better than the tig but both are easy to use. I like the digital display and how lightweight it is. At this price point for what you are getting you simply can't go wrong. Here’s my rating scale for products: 1 Star: Do not buy. This item has serious flaws. I would never under any circumstances use again. 2 Stars: Do not buy. Its usable at best, but you could easily find something better. 3 Stars: Just ok. Buy if you can't find an alternative. Some issues need to be addressed. 4 Stars: Recommend purchase. This item met my expectations. 5 Stars: I love this product and would highly recommend to friends & family. Additional Information: As a Vine reviewer, I know that people depend on these early revies as I to depend on reviews when shopping on Amazon. I fully intend to give honest insights.

The dual voltage design (110V/220V) is super convenient, and it can be easily switched between home power and industrial power in the workshop. The large LED display is very intuitive, and the current and voltage are clear at a glance. The adjustment knob is highly sensitive, and the operation is simple and easy to use, even a novice can quickly get started. The hot start and arc force functions are really useful, making it easy to strike an arc and weld more smoothly, especially on thick steel. The VRD safety function is also reassuring, preventing the no-load voltage from being too high. The machine is light and easy to carry, and there is no pressure to take it outdoors or to the construction site. The welding shape is also very beautiful, and the weld is stable and even.

The dual voltage allows us to tackle a much wider array of jobs around the farm. Super portable and easy to use. The larger LED display makes it so much easier to see. This welder worked flawlessly when testing, no issues at all. Keep in mind this is not what you want for big jobs or as a professional. But it is extremely useful around the house, shop, farm, etc. Excellent price as well.

This is a great welder, compact and perfect for small / medium jobs. Includes 110V converter plug, good for about 4-4.5mm material at max 140A at 110V, or at 220 you can increase to 200A and up to 8mm material. Includes stick welding clamp and shoulder strap. TIG welding torch is available separately. I’m starting to learn small home welding projects, this is perfect!
