Please read other reviews about installation. What I will say is that I am a middle-aged woman and I live alone. I was intimidated by the other reviews that said assembly was complex and needed two people, so I hired a handyman duo to install, they messed it up so badly that I had them leave after a day and half of listening to them curse, drill, and break things. I was pretty dejected about the whole thing. I had another 2 handymen come look and not be sure that they could fix it. Well I decided to disassemble what the idiot crew had done and start from scratch. I was able to assemble and install the bed completely by myself, all it takes is attention to the DETAILS IN THE INSTRUCTIONS. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS AND DON'T HIRE A MAN TO DO IT - they think they're smarter than the instructions. Other than having to replace hardware that my hired "help" broke, I only had one issue. When you are adjusting the height level of the leveling feet, do not adjust too much or the bed won't close flush with the top of the structure. I didn't realize this until the door panels were on, so I had to take the panels off and basically go back to the steps prior to piston install, lower the leveling feet, re-re-install the frame, and voila, the front panel clears the top of the bed structure. There is approx. 1 1/16" difference in height between the metal from and the wood door panels, so keep that in mind when you are at Step 22 To Close the Metal Base. This step is to ensure that the metal closes correctly and is in alignment, but keep in mind your clearance needs to account for the wooden panels. The instructions don't point this out, and there is no troubleshooting guide. My only other advice is that if you are going to assemble and install by yourself, you will need something fairly heavy (50 lbs or so), to hold the bed open while you install the slats. Enjoy the bed, and if you are average intelligence or more, you should be able to do this by yourself if you follow instructions. Best of luck! Okay, so first off I will say that for occasional use I am confident this wall bed will work fine for my purposes (it will be used maybe 18-24 times a year). What I *do* like about it: 1) It is, by far, the least expensive wall bed option I could find that looked safe - and having installed it I still feel that way. 2) Slightly nicer looking trim and finishes that other options on the lower end of pricing 3) Parts of the design related to assembly are really well thought out (other parts, not so much) 4) It fits a larger (thicker) mattress than many wall beds, which was important to me What I *do not* like about it: 1) Getting this thing to look *good* is not easy, and the final fit/finish is not as polished as I was expecting. No, it was not because of my assembly skills. There is a substantial gap built into the design on the sides of the upright bed panels - this allows for a less than perfect assembly and probably helps prevent issues related to the bed sticking if any warping or bending happens over time. There are a couple of rubberized "flaps" that you screw in to the back sides to sort of cover the gaps, these flap things, along with the way they are installed, were a really poor design choice in my opinion. 2) Packaging: Overall the product is package well to keep it safe during transport - except for the two main exterior panels - you know, the ones that are the most visible. Mine arrived with one corner crushed in about 1cm (roughly 1/2 an inch). The damage is only visible when the bed is open, and I decided it was not worth waiting for, or dealing with the hassle of, getting a replacement (assuming they would send one). In any event, that box needed better reinforcement. The two panels are *really* heavy. I watched the FedX guy unload those and he was struggling bad even with it on the dolly. I had the same issue, even with a really nice appliance dolly. I ended up leaving the box in the garage and taking in the panels individually. 3) The handle hardware (the things you grab to pull the bed down) are made of the cheapest material they could find. 2 of the 4 cabinet screws they included had the heads of the screw pop off during installation (using a regular handheld screwdriver). There were zero extras in the box, fortunately I had a bunch of cabinet screws leftover from a recent kitchen remodel. The handles themselves are super lightweight and do not feel very sturdy. 4) The instructions are not terrible, but they are far from good. Figuring out which hardware (bolts, nuts, etc) went where was a little challenging as about 1/2 of them are not actually labeled with a part number anywhere (not even in the package they come in) - so much of it is just mixed together. Overall thoughts and impressions: If you need an inexpensive wall bed option for occasional use, this fits the bill. If you need a wall bed for regular use, I would highly recommend you keep looking. I do not believe this thing would stand up to daily use for very long. Note, that you really do *Need* 2 people to put this together. It just isn't safe for one person to do it alone. I am still happy I selected this thing, and I know there are a lot of negatives here, but I wanted to be thorough so people know what they are getting into. ... show more

Very happy with this product. Was able to assemble mostly on my own. My only recommendation is near final step: make sure to check the fit into the cabinet on the door panels as you raise and lower the bed frame. Mark the location on the door before attaching with screws, as the door panels will move until secured. ... show more
