We really like our new Murphy bed. Once installed it was very sturdy and easy to use. At first, I wondered why it had the little doors on the side but once I folded our bed up while made with blankets it was obvious they were made to allow you to push the blankets out of site and close the little side doors. I only have one issue with the bed frame; the support at the that folds out at the foot of the bed, it sticks out too far past the mattress and I stub my toe on it every time I walk by. I created an easy fix by installing a pool noodle around each of the feet to prevent injury. A better design would have left the supports beneath the bed. Since we only seldom have the bed down its not much of an issue for us, however it is something to keep in mind if you plan to use it for an elderly person. ZERO STARS NOT A CHOICE! JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK!!! DO NOT BUY! DO NOT BUY! DO NOT BUY! NOWHERE in the description does it say that your bed is built from pressed material right next to the hinges that hold it together. The first time I pulled it out 2 days ago, It split. This was meant for an AirBnB, but it will never be used. It's garbage and I now have to pay to remove it. It's very heavy because of the base, which may or may not be pressed material also. I don't know. It does not matter. The piece that matters "IS." Can you imagine allowing strangers to use this? IMPOSSIBLE. The product needs to say that it is made from inferior materials and will not stand up to normal use. This product is defective from the minute it gets to your home. I took a couple weeks to hire a professional to put it together. Therefore 35 days was TOO LONG to request a RETURN. Yes, I am being serious. I was denied a return on a large "put together yourself item" after 35 days. I just bought the mattress last week so I clearly have not used the item . This company is dishonest and I pray that this review does far more damage to them than the 80% refund I requested to go away. I'm already out the mattress and the professional installation, now disposal is in my future. PLEASE TELL PEOPLE WHAT THE IMPORTANT PIECES ARE ACTUALLY MADE OF!! ... show more

Although it seems to be good quality - it is a pressed board material. Not all the hardware was there so we are ordering it from the manufacturer.
