I needed a seat platform for the mid section of my boat without trying to make any changes to the deck floor. A post hole for a seat was not the solution. This, with a swivel base and boat seat attached works fine for sitting in place while drifting. Manufacturer does not approve sitting on it while the boat is in motion, and I would agree with that based on the small area the legs make contact with. Wider foot pads would help this issue. These are excellent stands. If you add a swivel release you can store separate from the seat. I like that you can position the stand 2 ways to give you more room on the deck. They are very stable and do not slide thanks to the rubber feet. I would recommend
