    • Gasket "seal" complete fail within 6 months

I had a similar thermos with a different screw in top which lasted for years. I was able to remove the plug, clean it, but eventually it wore out so I looked for the same or similar and got this one. This one looks the same from pictures, but the screw in plug was more simple in design, and does not have a pour spout like my old one. You have to screw it in TIGHT to prevent it from leaking. Regretfully, this causes the "seal" to fail pretty quickly. The old plug had multiple parts including a silicon gasket that did a great job. This one is just one piece of molded ABS plastic, no actual gasket. Today, for example, I filled my coffee thermos, tightened down the plug, and shook it to make sure it wouldn't leak. Coffee sprayed all over the sink. Very sad. I give it 2 stars on leak proof because it DID work for awhile, but gradually failed. On the positive side, it's easy to clean and holds heat. NOT RECOMMENDED ... show more

We bought this thermos to replace a reliable but ancient one that finally broke. We thought a new one would never be as good as the old one! This new thermos was a pleasant surprise. I keeps our coffee hot on long road trips. We'll see how it works with cold beverages but it should do fine.

Compré esto para el primer tetero del día de mi bebe, dormimos en segundo piso y para no perder el sueño mi bebe se levanta a las 6-8am tengo el agua aún caliente echo la fórmula y le doy el tetero a mi bebe y seguimos durmiendo sin necesidad de buscar el tetero y calentar el agua en la cocina q no es nada cerca de mi cuarto, para que tengan una idea lleno de agua a las 9-10pm y a las 6-8am aún está caliente dice q dura 12 horas aproximadamente, hoy aún estaba super caliente q deje el tetero hecho unos 10 minutos para dársela a mi bebe! Así que se la recomiendo si buscas algo para mantener super caliente el agua. ... show more

This is exactly what I needed to get my coffee to work hot and drinkable at mid-morning. Especially love the easy the to clean top. I've even made coffee the night before and it's still warm the next day. Really, just a solid product that works. (FYI, I pre-warm the thermos with boiling water to get it up to temp before adding my coffee, which is not a product flaw but simple physics.) ... show more

Although I haven't used this very long, it's doing a great job so far. The pouring mechanism is a VAST improvement over the previous thermos I had (pop-up button type). The secret to getting the best performance from a thermos of any kind is to pre-condition (warm for hot stuff, cool for cold stuff). I use mine for hot coffee and let boiling water sit in it while I make the brew. Pour out the water (into the cup to prewarm it) and then add the coffee to the thermos. It stays quite hot for several hours. I took off one star for durability because I haven't used it long enough to know how it will hold up. It does well and is a good size, also. ... show more
