I now always will get a metal bed frame and just a mattress with no box spring. But I am taller and like taller beds to get into. I got the 18 inch bed frame and it is 18 inches. I like the black steel and it looks sturdy as well. I did NOT take the backing off of the tape (to keep the mattress from sliding). I was going to try it without first then possibly do it but my mattress slides very minimally (like an inch only at times in which I just push the mattress over an inch then-keep in mind my mattress slid more no more in the past with a box spring so no biggie- and I could use the tape and I assume it would prevent all sliding so….that’s my choice not to use it as I don’t think in my case it’s necessary-which is GREAT!!). I have the room if needed to store things under my frame but I’d rather not as I’m a minimalist and just really like the look of a tall bed with nothing under it. So if dies what I want it to do perfectly. And if I need to use the tape or store things, I can. I’m very satisfied with this purchase when it comes to quality and price.

The product was very well packaged and the instructions are exemplary and commendable. All the items were present, installation was a breeze. There was no visible flaw or imperfections with the parts, which is somewhat rare these days. All the parts fitted together easily and perfectly as you would expect of a European made product, which this is not. The frame is sturdy and did not wobble. I have not put anything in storage under the bed yet but you can see that the space is exactly as described. Absolutely a 5-star product. Kudos to the manufacturer and the designer. I did not bother using the self-adhesive strips that are supposed to hold the mattress in place however. I did not like that idea and didn't think it would be necessary or would work well. I put all the sticky strips face down. I use a memory foam mattress on top and the mattress stays in place, no issue of anything moving or shifting.

Easy to assemble and sturdy; slats are further apart than other models, so I bought a separate set of slats to support a mattress in a box. But worth it because the extra tall 18” allowed for storage cubes under the bed. Also note that the legs are square/metal - the bed can slide if on hardwood or laminate floor (we will be adding grippy/sticky cushion tape or cups to prevent movement and disperse the weight of the legs to prevent dents over time).

Easy to assemble. I ordered two of this product. Assembled with 2 people (one doing the assembly and the other person deciphering the instructions) 1st mattress frame set up = 30 mins, 2nd mattress frame set up = 20 mins. Very sturdy product and way cheaper and easier to assemble than Ikea!!! I'm never buying a bedframe from Ikea again after this experience. 😀 if your thinking of putting 2 queen beds together to make an Alaskan king ... this is the product to get!

The tool that it came with stripped out really bad and it was difficult getting the screws to go in, but I was able to finally tighten them all. The frame looked a little difficult to put together when you first pull out all the pieces, but once you start reading the directions and start putting it together, it’s actually pretty easy. So far, it seems pretty darn sturdy and doesn’t squeak (woohoo)! The frame does seem just a little larger than the mattress, so the corner posts stick out a little (see photos). Not a huge problem, but definitely something to watch out for if you don’t want to break a toe!
