My husband and i were in the market looking for a cheap box spring that could get the job done and since i love shopping on amazon, i did some price comparisons and found this to be of good value and the reviews were decent as well. the idea of the box spring folding sounded interesting, and nice since we move around a lot as a military family. so we both decide to order and give it a try. putting t together was fairly easy, but definitely a two person job trying to secure the cover over it. cover is labeled with "top" and "bottom" so you know which way to put it on. it fits our mattress ad our bed frame well. it has held up to everything in the few weeks we have had it and honestly i think it will last much longer than our old bedframe which was made of wood- it broke within the first 6 months and was just horrible. this frame though is all metal, folds open like an accordion- sort of hard to explain. but looks very sturdy in its integral structure. i am very happy with this purchase. ... show more

I waited a few days to write this, but I must say this is well worth the money. I am an older woman ( Ooch) I took this out of the box so I could have something to hold on to and get it up the flight of stairs.. it was heavy !!! I think I might have been able to set it up alone, but a friend did show up and all we had to do was open/ unfold the box springs, then zip up the top which already had the cover on it, then put the mattress back on top. I am very impressed with this! The height was perfect, I was looking for a 7", this is 7.5" and is wonderful. My last mattress was very tall and I used a 5" box springs with that, but I got a new mattress and it was 2" shorter, so I was having a hard time getting up from a low point, the 2.5" makes all the difference. I am really glad I read all the reviews.. even the lowest ones were just complaining about small things, not about the quality of this. I am happy !! ... show more

    • Perfect for what I needed
Perfect for what I needed: a sturdy, metal foundation. I have an old fashioned bed frame that doesn't have support beams across the center, only on the edges. As a result I have broken two foundations because the wood was too thin to act as the only support. I guess most wooden foundations assume your bed frame has support across the middle. Well, this frame is all steel wrapped in a fabric cover. The top is a slightly springy steel mesh that is very sturdy. It can easily hold two adults (and a cat), but it's only a foundation so you'll need an actual mattress and bed frame too. Great build quality, no assembly (it folds flat; useful for moving!), and reasonably inexpensive. Exactly what I needed. ... show more

I am so glad I purchased this box spring. I was hesitant about how good it would be but I shouldn't have been! When it arrived in the box it looked like it would be way to small for a cal king, then when you unfold it, it all magically pops into place. It is so easy, can be done alone. Perfect for carrying upstairs and round tight corners even in cal king size. The metal frame inside feels strong and sturdy and my mattress sits on it perfectly. Believe it or not this box spring comes foldable. Easy to assemble. Got a twin one for guest bed. Stands up to adult sleeper. Would buy again for twin bed for guest or child.

    • Great box spring at a fair price, be wary if XPO is the courier
The box spring is very supportive, and arrived in perfect condition. The frame itself can fold to about 3 inches thick and is slightly longer and wider than a twin bed allowing it to be easily moved up my narrow staircase. With almost a months worth of nights spent sleeping on it, I have no complaints and very happy with my purchase. The only downside was the courier (XPO) whose website is incredibly (quite possibly purposefully) unhelpful and, if you read other reviews by others about them, doesn't care if they actually deliver your items. After looking through multiple negative reviews I prepared myself by for the worst. I kept my cell phone at the ready the day before to make sure I could answer the phone for when they called to schedule delivery (Missing said call has caused other people to have their item sent all the way back to the warehouse). My delivery time was scheduled for the afternoon but Amazon had it as in the morning so I decided to stay home until it arrived, which it did at almost exactly between the two delivery periods. The delivery men were very polite and friendly but their inability to hold to the assigned time and the fact that came in a rented cargo van more makes XPO seem as amateurish as advertised. ... show more
