  • Quality for the price
I really like all the features and quality of the the radio. Worth it by far.

  • Excellent Budget Emergency Noaa radio
I got this from Amazon, great little radio, so easy to use, easy to put batteries in compartment, I bought another midland radio and it was so hard to connect the internal battery, id have to have microscopic fingers to plug it in, gave it away, put it out in the hall of my apartment with a for free sign. this little green Kaito radio is the best ive bought so far. I love the siren on it, its pretty loud and the flashlight is good. just the right size for my backpack too if I want or need to carry it, perfect size and works Great. ... show more

  • Pretty good
The good. The crank seems very sturdy and may actually last. The solar panel (don't forget to remove the film over it) seems like it will work well. It picks up my local weather station plus one further away and plenty of other radio (so far not much short wave tho). The bad. First, it is hard to read the knob indicators. One knob is self evident (flashlight, siren, flashing signal, off). The other is not - AAA battery, lithium internal battery, off, and perhaps the last one is for charging an external device? Where do I set it when I plug it into the wall - on internal or off? Also, it says not to plug it in more than 8 hours - I would hope there would be an internal regulator to keep the internal battery from over charging. Also, no alert on the weather radio. I guess this isn't huge since the alert runs the battery down (and I can't leave it plugged in for more than 8 hours). Finally, it took some figuring to realize the the internal battery arrives unplugged - you have to take it out and plug it in. Overall it seems good for the price, but not perfect and kind of wished I shopped a bit more. ... show more

  • Very good value for the price
There are a lot of options for the emergency radio on the market. This one is a good choice. Has decent radio reception, even for short waves. Very compact and lightweight. Serves its purpose very good.

  • Poor AM/SW Performance and Lacking Power
This is an ok emergency radio if all you want to do is tune very local radio stations. The AM/SW radio is basically useless for all but the nearest stations. The FM radio works ok. In an emergency it would be very useful to be able to tune in AM stations from further away. On to the USB charging capability... don't count on it to charge your modern smart phone. I fully charged the radio and was only able to charge my iphone by 5% before the radio battery died. It's a neat, lightweight emergency radio, but it lacks critical performance. ... show more

  • Perfect for Everyday Use and an Emergency Radio
This is an excellent everyday use radio that can also be used as an emergency radio. I've been using this little radio daily for a couple of weeks now and I have it with me everywhere I go. This little radio is very compact and feels very solid in your hand. I especially like the rounded corners and it's Tic Tac shape. The antenna, tuning and volume wheel controls are positioned in such a way that you can operate this radio while holding it vertically, like a cell phone. I also find that having the tuning wheel on the side is at the perfect height and very comfortable to use when resting my hand next to the radio on a flat table top or desk surface. This is a great feature to have if you spend hours tuning around in the shortwave band, (no carpel tunnel syndrome). On my radio, I added four little rubber feet to the bottom to give it more stability when using it on an uneven rough surface, like a rock or a tree stump. I also use my Voyager V2 with mono headphones and a shortwave reel antenna for tuning the SW Band, (these are must have accessories for shortwave listening). ... show more

  • Smaller than I expected
It’s tiny, and that may be my fault because I should have read dimensions closer. I realize that no one needs a large radio to bug out, but to keep at home and listen for weather and a little music, it’s ok. It doesn’t seem too sturdy. It does have good reception for fm radio so far. I will report back as I use it for a better update. ... show more

  • One of the Best Emergency Radios you can buy for under $20.
The Voyager V2 by Kaito, has to be one of the best values for an emergency radio you can find anywhere. Its my new $20 jewel! I love this radio. I produced a detailed video review which is on youtube. Just search the product and my user name. Features I like best about this radio: * Build Quality is fantastic. * FM-AM reception is equal to some of the best performing portables I own. * The NOAA Weather Band reception on this radio exceeds all of my other radios. Very impressive. * Flashlight. * Easy to use Dynamo crank. * Solar power. * Optional AAA batteries can be used..this is a very important feature all emegency radios should include. * Audio quality rivals some of my portables and can be used as an everyday radio...its that good. * Headphone jack is awesome, low noise floor when quiet and great bass on FM. * Replaceable rechargeable battery pack. Features that could be added or improved: * A second SW band would have been welcome..3.2MHz-6.95Mhz. * More color choices; though I think with time we will see them become available. * Longer antenna, or include a clip on wire to extend the Shortwave capability. The performance is everything you would want in a small form factor emergency receiver. I'm really enjoying this radio, and may use it on a normal basis vs waiting for an emergency. ... show more
