  • Amazing and multi purpose
Color: Black
The sound, the features, long lasting battery. Despite the cheesy packaging I have no complaints. All local important and regular music stations come in clear with some adjusting and tuning. Lights work great and are bright! Overall a fair price. Haven’t had a chance to try the crank powered yet or test the solar but it does charge somewhat quick and holds its charge over a long period of time. I also love that there are 4 ways to charge this. 1. Regular batteries 2. Recharge cord with built in rechargeable batteries 3. Solar 4. And when all else fails crank it ... show more

  • Emergency Radio with "Wind Up" Power
Color: Black
Very happy with the purchase. Amazon is a total pain-in-the-butt wanting feedback before one even gets a chance to try out stuff. I always WAIT until I test it. This radio pleased me very much. Works just as described. It is small, light weight, and the clarity is amazing.

  • Many Radio and Emergency Functions in a Small Package
Color: Yellow
Full disclosure, I was given this radio with the vendor hoping I would write a review. Given that, this is my honest review. This is a small multifunction radio that stands about 4 inches tall ( antenna retracted and secured, and strap handle folded), 7 inches wide and 3 inches deep. The functions: Radio function in general: The tuning knob is quite stiff, making accurate tuning difficult. The speaker is small, about 2 inches in diameter. It does not give you a high fidelity sound, however you can hear voice communication and music well enough. There is plenty of volume for a residential room. I am in a small bedroom listening to a local FM country radio station with the volume turned to about 25% of the dial rotation and it is louder than face to face voice communication. AM radio - It seems sensitive enough, as I pick up lots of stations. The selectivity doesn't seem great as it was difficult to tune any station in well and not be interfered with by an adjacent station. I don't listen to alot of AM radio so can't give a good evaluation of this particular function. FM radio: This radio seems sensitive enough to listen to our local stations. It seemed a little difficult to tune in a station so it was clear, but the local stations were good enough. The dial is not very accurate as there are no graduation marks on it, but the frequencies are written on about every 4 Mhz, so was possible to find the desired station. SW radio: I was not able to receive many clear SW stations. Neither happened to be in English, my only language, so I did not spend any time listening to it. WB radio: The weather band does not need to tuned with the tuning knob. There is a 7-position switch to select one of seven weather bands. I could only receive the seventh station. It worked reasonably well. I could understand the information being received. There are numerous ways for the device to be powered: built in rechargeable lithium ion (li-ion) battery, disposable AAA batteries, had crank, solar, and micro USB. There is a slide switch to switch between the AAA batteries and the li-ion power source. I have not tried anything but the li-ion power source yet. I believe the other three power sources: hand crank, solar, and micro usb are connected to the li-ion batteries and effectively charge that battery and power the radio. I believe it also powers its type A USB connector so you can charge your phone or whatever from its internal battery. I don't know if it powers this connector from the AAA batteries. There is a flashlight beam on one end of the radio and a more diffuse "reading light" that folds out behind the tiny solar panel. These both have two different brightness levels There is also an emergency function that flashes a very bright red led and emits siren sound. It is very loud in a small room which I learned unexpectedly. It also came with a small carabiner and small compass attached to the handle. Would I buy this? I live in Florida, hurricane country. I believe this could come in handy if we happen to lose power some time, so yes as part of my hurricane preparedness I would buy this radio. I suppose you might also take it along on a camping trip. There are quite a few similar devices on Amazon, and I have not evaluated the value of this device compared to any of the other ones, so I can't say it's a good deal or not. ... show more

  • Awesome radio. Great for emergencies
Color: Yellow
Have this for all emergencies that come as we live in an area with lots of tornadoes. I unboxed it, ran the crank a few times and tried it out. Hope I never have to use it but impressed with it when testing it out. I got radio stations clear, got NOAA, charged the batteries, tested the lights and impressed with all. Possibly going to by another to put in my storm shelter. This is currently in my emergency bag. ... show more

  • C'mon it's 30 something dollars.
Color: Yellow
Ok. Let's be real here. This is not a 5 star item. I gave it 5 stars because it actually worked out of the box for like 35 bucks. I wanted a weather radio with am/fm, a couple of lights and a couple of different charging options. I read tons of reviews on this product. The lesser reviews probably got a bum product. Stuff happens, quality control is nil in today's world. Most of the 5 star reviews are hilarious....it isn't that great for 30 some bucks get real. Flashlight and reading light have 2 settings...both probably eat the battery alive. Tuning is very very touchy, it's not digital...want that..buy that....tuning is more sensitive than my second wife. I live in a metro area, stations are strong, just touchy. Weather radio picked up NOAA just fine. SW what can I say picked up 30 stations of garbage. If you are buying this for SW I have to ask why ? Get a dedicated SW radio. From some other reviews. Antenna...does not swivel...don't try. Solar charge....read the darn manual, this is the equivalent of a trickle charger... it helps that's all. Hand Crank....again read the manual 8 to 10 min of crank at 2 cranks per sec. to turn on a dead Cell Phone....it helps that's all. Compass...cute feature, inaccurate as **** if you are relying on this you're already toast. Sound....like an 80's handheld radio...very good for voice and real low music but, quite loud enough. Unit as a whole......what I expected for the price. I wanted am/fm/weather/ lights/charging options. The bar was set low for this one and it crossed the bar. If I get 1 yr out of I'm good. It is a super basic for short term emergencies NOTHING ELSE, was why I bought it for now. If it doesn't die or start melting withing 1 yr. I'm content lol after that all bets are off. So again be real, if you are relying on this to be your lifesaver...you are probably already in trouble but, if you grab this with a clear head, based on yoir $$ at this time, it covers your basics yet, patience is required for tuning frequencies. Otherwise upgrade. For now I knew what i was buying and it does barely what I asked. And yes I got the crooked tuning dial...whatever for 30 some bucks I will find what I'm looking for or I would have upgraded to digital. P.S. if you live in the styx like I used to this probably won't work for you. Reception is not strong enough. City is fine. In rural areas, you may want to check out their stronger digital products.(I had dedicated equipment for when I lived on a farm) Cheers.....hope this helps ! ... show more
