Tiny but mighty. I feel more ready in case of emergency power outage thanks to this purchase. Smaller than expected but no need for oil/electricity. I love the solar recarge feature as well as phone charger option and crank handle option. Great purchase and very lightweight.

I would buy this over again and for family members too. It's smaller than I thought it'd be but after some thinking, I don't mind it so much anymore. Who wants to be carrying around a bigger radio during an emergency when you don't need to? The wristband will be helpful too. I say the only thing missing is a Swiss army knife! The radio works well, the front light is super bright and the reading light is helpful too. I appreciate that it comes with an antenna and of course, many ways to charge this thing including the hand crank. I would recommend this for sure. ... show more

Excellent emergency radio. The 18650 Li-Ion replaceable batteries was a key feature for me. This unit came with 2 fresh ones that I will be able to test, replace or recharge when needed. This pack gives a significant amount of power (4000mAh compared to the 600mAh of the Kaito 500 for example ). The batteries came 75% charged and the unit started solar charging right out of the box just with the ambient light. All features are functioning as expected. The unit is compact and feels solid. Solar and crank are great additions that feel reassuring in case you would be exposed to very long term outages and, of course, they’ll always be better than nothing. Nevertheless, don’t have to high expectations with the integrated solar panel.(And i still think it’s a great feature to have) These small integrated solar panels on all this type of radios (or power banks) have limited capabilities even in the best conditions . You should not count on the solar panel to recharge your unit 100% and whatever amount of charge you’ll manage to capture will take a long time .The realistic way to recharge this type of units via solar is with an external panel.The removable batteries option is a big plus since you can replace them, but also test and charge them in a separate charger. Cranking is a good extra way of charging for extreme situations (depleted batteries, no spare, no extra power bank, zero sun). Otherwise this unit can be charged via usb and wall outlet or power bank or (after removing the batteries) with a charger compatible with 18650, for maintenance or when preparing for a coming weather event. In the front, there are 4 blue leds for state of charge indicator (25/50/75/100%), a red led for charging indicator and a green one when the radio tuning is good. I’ve tested charging phone, iPad and iPod, all good. The sound is loud and crisp. Excellent AM/FM/WB reception (Urban area). The lights (Flash and reading) are super bright. The motion sensor feature on the reading light is genius. The sos alarm seems unnecessary but it’s very loud and works. The iPad/iPhone adapter is a very clever addition. I don’t see how you could be completely out of power (ever) with this unit. On the whole an excellent unit for this price, I recommend. ... show more

We have not had to use it in an emergency but has all the features we need. Able to get an/fm radio, charge a phone and has a flashlight. It was smaller than I thought but it’s fine.

Great product! Lights even work right out of the box. For the price, I would definitely recommend it. It would be great when the power was off during a hurricane or storm. The radio worked well and got many stations without the antenna. The lights were very bright on the flashlight and the lamp. I would definitely recommend this product and am definitely thinking about purchasing more ... show more
