Well I've been in the radio hobby since 1971! I've had my share of wow! Ok! But, I spent $400 on supposed top tier radio. It arrived and I did the little mod for the band, simple no problem. Installed it and I have to move the mike plug for it to modulate. Then when it does it has a loud radio click in the speaker. So, then I changed the mike setting to elect instead of stock after it wouldn't accept a simple power mike, it squealed like it was an echo robot sound! In turn I un-installed it and put it on the shelf, will not be going in that direction again, lesson learned! ... show more

This is a really great radio. The conversion only took a few minutes. (I had it done by a qualified technician), the screen is so clear and the ability to adjust the brightness allows you turn it down at night so there’s no glare. This radio has so many great features. The stock microphone feels extremely cheap, but it’s actually awesome. I would definitely buy from this seller again in the future. Just can’t say enough good things about it. ... show more

I ordered this item from JBTOOLS seller, fulfilled by Amazon, and it was indeed the V2 most updated version of the Stryker SR-955 HPC. This one has the smaller V2 PCB mainboard but does not have the white jumper wire that was on the first V2 radios. JBTOOLS is a stand-up seller, and this was the best price on the radio I could find. ... show more
