Needed an outdoor solution with tie-downs to keep things in place when hurricane season hits. These were just the ticket: * They're sturdy, well built, and attractive. * The coating on the steel looks thick (not that thin anodization you see on the cheap products), and should keep them rust free for many years. * The padding is thick and seems to of a rugged surface that should hold up. * The strap system adjusts and buckles/unbuckles quickly and easily * The mounting screws it came with are beefy The only downside, as I saw others note in their reviews, was that there was white mildew on the cloth surfaces of each. If this had been for indoors, that would have been a deal breaker, but since it's outdoors, I don't care. ... show more

Whoever is going to or plan to purchase this wall mount rack for their canoe or kayak, here are the quick facts that will clarify your mind: - very sturdy - very easy to install - it comes with heavy duty screws to install - you get everything you need to hang your kayak in the box - soft cushion with sleeve cover on the mounts - 3 holes on each for screws to install - manual sheet has the info you need to install - solid heavy duty well built material - very affordable price - Perception Pescador Pilot 12.5ft kayak what you see in photos (pedal driven, 85lbs kayak only) - I am 200lbs and I was able to hang on the mounts 30seconds without any issues, so as long as you mount them tight on a solid studs, it will sure carry your kayak life long!!!! These mounts are worry free, I had a lot of doubt and questions if they would be able to handle the weight or made well or even had hard time trusting the walls. After getting one and installing it on the studs as it has been advised in the manual, the solidity of the product was impressive. These racks are extremely solid and sturdy. I like the padding so my kayak doesn't get scratched in the process of putting it on the rack. It was very easy to install on an outside privacy fence. We were able to attach the racks to fence posts. I appreciate that everything necessary to install it was included AND INSTRUCTIONS that were understandable were also included. I am not a handy person, I hate when you get instructions that are not clear. It is very easy to lift the kayak onto the racks, strap them in (straps are also included), and have them up and out of the way when the grass has to be mowed.
