Paddle is great, and the paddle is the one that has the notch/dock hook that I wanted. Was pretty nervous about that because the main image on the item does not include that notch. I asked and everyone including the seller seemed oblivious to why I had any concern, and insisted that all image were of the same paddle, but there is a clear difference to me. The paddle seems great and I am happy that I purchased it, kind of sorry I purchased it through Amazon though. The water drip cups became deformed during packing/shipping and I cannot get resolution without returning the order, I don't want to return the order, I'd like replacement drip cuts. This is a perfect example of when something gets too big to fail - they fail. Amazon would spend twice as much for the return shipping and to ship another paddle out over just replacing the cups. Nice, light 2pc paddle. I had to replace a nice Werner that I...ahem...ran over with my car. (Apparently carbon fiber isn’t THAT strong). I wanted something close but not so expensive. This Best Marine is surprisingly good. It is probably lighter than the Werner. The interconnect seems tight and sturdy for now. It is not as solid as the Werner in that respect, but as long as it doesn’t loosen up over time then this is no big deal. Overall a very nice paddle! ... show more

    • Broke after a few months. Unbelievable customer support!
It was a good paddle. I used it ~ 15 times for less than an hour each time...3-4 miles. I took it out into the ocean today and it broke. Could have been disastrous, but I live to fight another day. The paddle does not, and I am hating it for ruining a perfect day. UPDATE: BEST contacted me after I emailed them, and they are sending me a new paddle (hopefully they addressed design/material issues) AND a dry bag...AND they refunded my original purchase. Way more than I expected, and I will buy their products again. Thanks, BEST...not what I was expecting. ... show more

Overall, I really like this paddle. Before this I used a 8 ft-long paddle and I thought it would be better if it was a bit longer, as a Sit-on-top kayak user. I searched for a paddle with carbon fiber shaft because fiberglass, although light good material as well, would fall apart and hurt your palm and fingers when worn out. I found this one, and with its arrival, I had a different experience. It helps my kayak track better and I'm not fatigued. It's not that much light, and it's not the best, obviously, but with this budget, you can hardly find a better one. ... show more

    • Cheap ABS blades break (Edit: Bad batch issue)
Edit: Best Marine customer service is amazing, and they completely stood behind their product. They called me, confirmed my address and are sending a new paddle right away. Will update with results from the replacement, but it's a pleasure to deal with a company who stands behind their products! This paddle seemed great as a step up from a cheap aluminum one.... until one of the blades sheered off while trying to paddle around some dead falls and out of harms way. A simple stroke through the water snapped off the blade and it sank straight to the bottom of a deep hole. Looks like a sub $100 carbon fiber kayak paddle really is too good to be true.... ... show more

The paddle is great for the price, although I have a Kerco Carbon paddle in the same price range that I feel has a better fit and finish. This one has a tiny bit of wiggle to it when put together. Wouldn't hesitate to purchase again, but would give the nod to the kerco paddle above this one based on the paddle I received. The finish on the carbon was a little marred at the connection point, not the end of the world and could have happened in shipping. ... show more
