  • Excellent product
I love this crate. It's extremely durable and has plenty of space and organization for all my fishing needs. It's easy to adapt to fit in different orientations as well. It is a little pricey for a fishing crate but I feel more comfortable knowing my gear isn't going anywhere in a tip over.

  • Perfect size for kayak, canoe, or pier cart.
If you want one cooler to do everything this is it. It perfectly fits my Kayak and leaves room to spare in the canoe. Put it on a wagon and you got a pier cart, top is good for keeping tools in for cutting bait or line and the interior is perfect for a one person fishing trip in a kayak but little tight for two people, their bait, their lunch, their catch, ect. Right tools for the right job, not for family outings, but good for one or two people on a fishing trip. Just don't catch a record holder or an entire school unless you bring a bigger cooler. ... show more

  • A great product - I’m very happy with it.
Well made, perfect size, can strap this thing down from every corner. What’s not to like!? It’s perfectly designed for many many kayaks especially the sit on top fishing kayaks. I do wish the top see thru dark plastic didn’t scuff so easily but small price to pay for something so light and well made. 5 stars for sure. ... show more

  • Good with a few minor issues
I bought this to use on my Predator PDL/Bigwater PDL kayak in salt water. Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase even though I feel the price was a little high. I ended up converting this to a circulating livewell with a Tsunami T500 pump and it works well for that purpose. When I'm launching or landing in the surf, the crate works well for securing my gear in the event of a roll over. The good: -Seems pretty well made and sturdy. The hinges feel like a bit of a weak point but it hasn't been an issue so far. -The packing was good and I didn't have issues with the acrylic lid getting scratched up like some people did. -Rod holders work good enough. They could be a little longer but most of my rods have pretty long butts. It's probably fine for bass style rods. -To secure the crate, I simply snap my rear kayak well bungee cords over the rod holders. Works awesome and super fast/easy. The bad: -Despite being rinsed after every outing, the "stainless" hardware is rusting pretty badly after just two months. -As others have mentioned, the single latch point for the top lid is a fail point. It comes unlatched way too easy. I have lost gear to Davey Jones' Locker (the ocean) when the latch came undone without me realizing. I flipped open the main compartment and bye bye fishing tackle (this has happened three times). -The rod holder attachments are not lined up great for having the hod holders on an angle. The front and back rod holder on each side are set at different angles. Thankfully, having the rods oriented straight up worked better for me anyways. -The compartments are not even remotely waterproof (nor were they advertised to be). Not a deal killer but it would have been a nice touch if they were water proof (surf launches can be pretty wet). -The plastic crate body is only single layer (aka not insulated). It's not advertised as such but again, would have been a nice touch. I'm not disappointed with my purchase. It's a nice, quality crate that works well for what it is and suits my purposes. I was able to overcome the top hatch latch issue by some creative velcro use. I screwed some Male/Female strips of velcro to the plastic on each side of the latch and secure them over the latch when I don't need to get into the storage. The velcro just keeps the latch from coming undone. So far, it has worked flawlessly. ... show more

  • It does everything
I use this on the front of my double pontoon peddle kayak. I stash my fishing life vest in it when not in use and it holds everything else I need. The fishing rod holders work well. I mounted the front two holders pitched forward towards me and are great for holding a pole while I'm switching bait or tackle while the other holds my net. The other two I mounted straight up. Would recommend to anyone looking for a do-all crate for their fishing kayak setup. ... show more

  • Great durability in the salt and great compartments to keep organized
I’ve taken my kayak krate three times now. Twice in the bay and once in the ocean and I’m very impressed. I love the top clear compartment. I put my sensitive items in there like my ID and fishing license. All my tackle boxes fit inside neatly. All my rods sit in the rod tubes securely and have the option of putting them at angle which I use when I’m in the harbor with all the boat traffic. The rubber toggles to open and securely close the krate work very well especially out on the water with wet hands. I have had the livewell bait tank from wilderness systems for awhile and was impressed with the quality so decided to get their krate and am not at all disappointed. Wilderness systems Accessory department has been on a roll with great quality kayaking accessories. ... show more

  • So versatile
Great product! I love how versatile the product is. It has rod holders and a easy to use storage space on the top that allows for easy access. Some uses that it is great for are: a cooler (for fish or drinks), lunch box (for work or school), night stand, stepping stool to change a light bulb, or even a tackle box. ... show more

  • They still haven't figured out scuffing issues, but a great crate regardless
IMHO, This is one of the best kayak crates out there. Having said that, they stopped providing the inserts/dividers long ago because they were too short and would just fall down. On top of that, despite there now being a little bit of foam on the lid in the packaging, they still arrive with the lid extremely scuffed. Is it a deal breaker? No. After a few trips out you wont care anymore. Still, when you pay a premium for what is basically an over-sized tackle box with rod holders and it arrives looking like its been used and abused., it doesn't leave a good taste in your mouth. Wilderness Systems / Confluence? Get whomever actually manufactures this crate to figure out how to package products for shipping. How much does a little bit of cling wrap to cover the lid really eat into your profit margin? Anyone else who reads this review? Its great. You can fit eight 3600 sized plano's in it, with room under/above for a 3700. I highly recommend putting some closed-cell foam on the bottom of the unit as even when you try to be gentle, its easy to make a lot of noise putting your boxes back. The interior dimensions are 10-7/8" W x 15-1/8" at the top lip, and roughly 14-1/2" X 10-3/4" at the bottom beveled edges ... show more
