Not sure if it's normal or not, but my rope starts fraying after one use. Only reason i didnt send it back is it's still kinda sorta usable, and probably is not a big deal, and i dont want it ending up in a landfill. Other than that, anchor is solid, lightweight enough for my paddleboard use, but heavy enough to hold me in place in a fairly windy day. ... show more

Edit: I changed back to 5 stars…the first picture now reflects the non metallic colors. Original: I have the silver anchor. It works fantastic on the paddle board while fishing. 4 stars for the ugly green color. The picture looked like a metallic green…I received a puke green color

6/6/22 - initial review 1st use: Let’s remember this is a 3.5 lb anchor. Tried it out this last weekend and it did pretty good. I’ll try to update and show what the salt eats up after some use. Pros: Foldable and packs away nicely. Light enough to not notice it in the back of a sit on top kayak. Once pushed into the sand halfway it was more than capable to keep the kayak anchored even with a person+gear in it. After an hour, it had not drifted more than 2 inches with moderate chop and current. Comes with plenty of rope as anchors normally do better the more rope you let out/less angle. Cons: Design is more like a grappling hook and not like a modern boat anchor meaning it’s not going to secure or bury itself into the sand the more you pull on it so you might have to step on it or push it into the sand. Seems like a fair trade off for being foldable and 3.5lbs. ... show more

Just the thing when I'm out paddle boarding and decide it's time to lie back on the board and float for a bit. Rope is cumbersome; I'll need to figure out a good way to store it and keep it from tangling.
