Very easy to install with the suggested mounting hardware. Operation, wiring and programming are simple. I hold a 24.5 foot Bluwave boat in place with the use of two of these on the back with ease. Will handle and hold the boat in place in up to 15mph winds. Very quiet as well.

I paid a marine shop to install my Talon anchor as I thought it was a bigger job than I wanted to tackle. I love it! I works perfectly and will hold my boat in 15 feet of water. This is light years ahead of dropping an anchor! It isn't cheap but if you do a lot of fishing that requires you to be stationary and then moving and then be stationary again repetitively, this is up for the task. I have a shed with a high eve that gives me 10 feet on clearance, so the height of the installed 15' Talon isn't a problem, but it will not fit through a standard garage door. ... show more

Install should be with a motor hoist or a block and tackle, spacers are approximately 3/4 of an inch thick, bolts need to be longer to accommodate. mount properly!is a 2 man job, comes with good directions

Should have installed this years ago. My boat dealer warned me that these are out of style and that I should go with a spot lock trolling motor instead. I am glad I insisted on the Talon. (I tend to fish in calm shallow water.) On my boat a trolling motor would be in the way when not in use and and cause me to have to rig up a secondary battery location. ... show more

I purchased a 2nd Talon in April but did not start to use it till June. After 3 uses it has stopped deploying. Minn Kota customer service is the worst. Don’t be fooled by the 5 year warranty cause the truth is they will dodge and divert any issues. They will tell you to keep cleaning it. If you purchase a Talon you will be cleaning and flushing it often. Tiny grits of sand or dried mud will prevent it from working. The tilt brackets on my boat won’t allow them to fully deploy when tilted due to the design of the boat. Which means I have to take them off constantly. They get scratched and will scuff your boat due to size and weight. 3 uses and it won’t deploy the Minn Kota technician told me to clean it. I asked why it is beeping then his response was that something was wrong! Real genius’s there I filed a claim with BBB since they been sending me on a cleaning spree for a month now. Didn’t the ad say they were built tough? There are known control board and motor issues with these. Surprised no one has filed a class action lawsuit. So my option is to take it back and forth to the next state to get it fixed. Gas is over $5 gallon and a $2,000 item that quits after 3 uses doesn’t sit well with me. I will never purchase another Minn Kota product again! Very poor customer service and faulty products. Never again! ... show more

This unit was very easy to install. Make sure you connect through a battery cutoff switch as it will draw current when your boat is not in use. Also, the 2020 model does not come with a foot control and cannot be controlled from your phone. Overall, awesome product and looks cool on the boat!

Thanks to the seller my new Minn Kota arrived a day early allowing me to get an early start on installation. The box arrived undamaged and my product securely cradled in side. This was installed onto a Tracker Pro Guide V-16 SC. I did a flush mount to the transom per Tracker recommendation.
