I ordered 2 and only one box had instructions. Although each box has a set of nuts, bolts, and mostly SKINNY WOOD SCREWS included, instructions are crucial. The wood screws holding most of it together are too small. The instructions correctly suggest to use a drill because there are so many, but even with my battery powered torque restricted (keeps it from over-tightening) drill, it often would make the wood give, meaning, you feel this tiny wood screw breaks some of the threads you're going into. Once assembled, it feels loose and creaks. You cant tighten more without ruining the holes. Its just a very cheap and flimsy wood. Not that the screws are better. My drill would cause the heads of the screws and philips bolt heads to "shave" off the stereotypical cheap quality metal bolts so often used from the parts of the world with the lowest quality control standards. While using a drill to screw in the screws and philips bolt heads, more often than not the heads would make it snow from the bit seemingly drilling into the head. For the price, I predict and hope 2 years of life and I'll be ok with it. I clearly bought this by mistake since I rarely, if ever, buy something this poorly rated on Amazon. My bad, but still...their bad. Definitely not for people over 200lb or planning to keep it more than a year. ... show more

    • Screws are easy to strip. Armrests will need extra attention. Cannot beat the price.

The chair is great. Folding mechanism works fine. Assembly is easy. Just time consuming. You will not find another chair for this quality at this price. The pre-seated threads for the bolts were installed with a hex key. If you accidentally cross thread the bolts, good luck! Don't and you will be fine. Cheap paint. It is flat and porous. Wood sap is bleeding into the paint. I plan to spar varnish mine. Otherwise the paint won't last very long. The description says the wood is hemlock. It is definitely some kind of soft wood. Arm rests are unstable. Plan on adding 3 longer screws through the top face of each. Use a countersink and glue. If you are really energetic, replace all the screws with rust resistant deck screws. I have seven more chairs to go. That's my plan for the rest of them. Not sure about the longevity of bolts, nuts and washers on the folding joints. These chairs are difficult to build, but that is the least of my concerns. After building them, we sat down in them and they broke immediately. These are pretty rickety. The wood is super soft and easy to put screws all the way through. Also wobbly. They look nice and will work for minimal use. Easy to assemble, though instructions could use a little more detail.

The wood is light, which is nice until you try putting it together and realize that is cheap and falling apart. It's very lightly painted and definitely not weather proofed. We were not sure it would even make it through one rain outside, so we did do a return. As you can see in the pictures, it came damaged and only got worse as you tried to assemble. Read the other reviews, this chair is JUNK. I could tell as soon as I was pulling the pieces out of the box that this chair was going to be junk. Cheap quality wood. There are lots of pieces where the wood is rotted or something and you can push your finger right through the paint. The wood splits with every single screw you put in.
