  • Great value for adirondaks!
Color: Natural
These chairs are solid wood, they look great, they are comfortable and so much more attractively priced than other adirondak chairs. Warning: they come in a lot of pieces that must be assembled. And they are foldable, which is nice but, they have a tendency to creak and squeak, so I added some screws here and there to tighten them up cause we don't ever fold them. I also gave them a couple coats of teak oil for additional weather protection. Bought 2 a few years ago, just bought 2 more. Love 'em! ... show more

  • Terrible build quality
I ordered 2 and only one box had instructions. Although each box has a set of nuts, bolts, and mostly SKINNY WOOD SCREWS included, instructions are crucial. The wood screws holding most of it together are too small. The instructions correctly suggest to use a drill because there are so many, but even with my battery powered torque restricted (keeps it from over-tightening) drill, it often would make the wood give, meaning, you feel this tiny wood screw breaks some of the threads you're going into. Once assembled, it feels loose and creaks. You cant tighten more without ruining the holes. Its just a very cheap and flimsy wood. Not that the screws are better. My drill would cause the heads of the screws and philips bolt heads to "shave" off the stereotypical cheap quality metal bolts so often used from the parts of the world with the lowest quality control standards. While using a drill to screw in the screws and philips bolt heads, more often than not the heads would make it snow from the bit seemingly drilling into the head. For the price, I predict and hope 2 years of life and I'll be ok with it. I clearly bought this by mistake since I rarely, if ever, buy something this poorly rated on Amazon. My bad, but still...their bad. Definitely not for people over 200lb or planning to keep it more than a year. ... show more

  • Fantastic Adirondack for a fantastic price, but not perfect.
Color: Natural
This is an amazing deal when you get down to it. About $50 for a wooden adirondack??? Yup. How do they do it? They cut out some of the labor and pass that on to the customer in savings. Please note, you will have to assemble these chairs yourself. But if you're like me, building things is kind of fun. Let me give you some background about me so you understand where this review is coming from. I am a pediatrician. I am not very mechanical. But I found that with a little common sense, time and the right tools, this was relatively easy to assemble and fun. First, the building phase. I would highly recommend a power drill, a socket wrench with a 13mm lug, and a philips screwdriver (preferable a ratcheting screwdriver if you have one). They will give you all the hardware you need, but not tools except for a small wrench, which I never used. I would also highly recommend sorting out all the parts into groups by the letters that are stamped on the wood. Initially, it is hard to see what goes where, but after you build the first one, it makes alot of sense, and you will be putting together the remaining chairs in no time. Follow the directions the first time, and look very, very closely at them so you don't screw something in the wrong way. The slats have conveniently predrilled holes and the base pieces have small holes that serve as guides. I found that sometimes things didn't line up quite right, but no worries, everything assembled just fine. One minor complaint I have is that the where the guiding holes are on the armrests don't allow for a graceful folding of the chairs, so after the first one, I bolted the armrests in a position of my choosing which worked out just fine. The first chair took me about 2h to build. The second chair took me an hour, and the last 2 took about 30min each. Don't be intimidated by having to put this together. These guys took most of the guess work out making it easy for you. The end product is I have 4 beautiful chairs, they are sturdy when I sit on them, and they fold beautifully. They are not the heaviest adirondacks I've seen, but they have a good weight behind them. A young adolescent could lift, but a smaller child might not be able to. When they fold, they are still rather big, but it is a nice feature if you want to move them around. Bottom line, these are nice looking chairs, high quality, and the price is hard to beat. If you are willing to do the work of assembling them, and have the proper tools, I highly recommend these chairs. I would warn anyone that thinks they can do this without a drill to think twice. They provide self driving wood screws and you can drive them in with a screwdriver, but there are probably 50 or so screws per chair... your arm will get tired! Buy this chair, and feel good about the price! Update 6/12/16: still pretty happy with the chairs, but have noted they are not quite as sturdy after a few parties. I'm a slender, shorter fellow so these chairs are perfect for me, however my friends are a little bigger than average and I've noted these chairs may not hold up with heavy use. For the price, I'm still happy, but in the future I might shell out extra money for more durable and sturdier chairs. ... show more

  • It's a $50 adirondack chair, what do you expect?
Color: Natural
Let's just say, you get what you pay for. As an adirondack chair usually runs close to $200 each, what can you expect for something that cost $50. Putting it together took some time, but all in all it was fine with a drill. It took me about an hour to put one together (i was using a screwdriver to start), it took my boyfriend 3 seconds to sit on it and break it. The wood has a lot of knots, weak spots, we moved the plank to the front and hoped for the best. I haven't put the second chair together yet. I am trying to see if I can get replacement boards to replace the broken one, and as back up. If they allow that, i'll keep them, mostly because I have no desire to take it apart. They are definitely small but are the perfect size for a balcony in a condo or apt. Update: I contacted the manufacturer to get a replacement board. They did more than expected, after sending them some photos of the cracked board, they sent me two brand new chairs. No need to return my originals. So I still have the originals set up and use them daily, the cracked board is still holding up (for now), and I have two more as back up. I have zero complaints about these chairs. They look great and I love my little wine drinking space. ... show more
