Overall, it’s sturdy, looks nice & you only attach the legs and, voila!, you’re done. However, the copper paint job was too bright for me. To tone it down I used acrylic paint and dabbed on my “ burnished” look with a wet sponge. This gives you more control as opposed to spray paint. It’s at least as good a job as they did.

Love that it's not too gold, it's more of a distressed gold and I love it! The legs made it too tall so I opted out of using them. I placed the screen against the fireplace and it looks great. It's not heavy to move so I can easily move it to the side if I ever decide to light the fireplace.

I rarely leave reviews, but this item seemed to be pretty polarizing (you either loved it or you hated it) so I thought I would chime in. I ordered the gold, and it is definitely not a shiny, gleaming gold as many of the other reviewers have mentioned. There are black "worn" spots in the finish (more pronounced on one side than the other), but I actually kind of like it - I think it gives it some depth, and I figured if I get tired of the look it would be cheap enough to spray paint. My screen is very wobbly - no amount of tinkering with the feet is going to fix that, but I'm only using it for decorative purposes so it's not that big a deal for me. The only thing I'm truly disappointed in is that my screen seems to be bent in several places, even though the box was in perfect condition, so it's obvious they sold it like that. It does fit my odd-shaped fireplace PERFECTLY though, and it's substantially cheaper than a similar one I had my eye on at Crate and Barrel, so given the cheap price, I'm not too upset about it. It's cheap and actually looks very nice on my fireplace, but it is definitely not a high-quality piece. I'm giving it 4 stars, because if mine hadn't arrived bent, I would be very pleased with it for the price.

I read all the reviews prior to purchasing and most were spot on. It is distressed, but I liked the overall look. It’s not over the top gold. Careful to make sure the screen is facing the correct way. This makes a difference. Not super sturdy and required a bit of slight bending to straighten it to allow it to sit evenly. However, for the price, I was mostly satisfied. It’s a great piece for the money. Looks chic and stylish. I would recommend if you want a piece that isn’t over the top expensive.

Needed something to keep our newly blind dog out of the fireplace. In 12 years, he has never gone near it, but in relearning his surrounding, he kept wanting to go into the fireplace. We rarely light a fire but do burn candles. I was skeptical about the quality and design. But it was a perfect fit and looks great.
