  • Not bad, but the kids have big a problem with it...
Our new hammock arrived today. I already had one that broke so I had the trees all set up already and only had to hang it on the hooks. I hung it up and needed to use some extension chains because it was so tight we couldn't get on it. After a few minutes, it stretched out a ton and I can almost take out the extension. Pros: it looks really nice, and the ropes are soft making it pretty comfortable. Cons: the hammock is mostly used by kids and the holes in the ropes got really big and their tush'es immediately fell through. My nephew (skinny 9yr old) fell completely through once his hinney went through. I understand they they wiggle around and the holes move as the person moves- it's just that our older one didn't do that. I'm going to keep it and hope once it gets a little weathered it won't stretch as much. ... show more

  • Too loosely woven.
I bought this for my in-laws to replace a worn out hammock they purchased at Target. This hammock is bottom of the line. It's short for the hammock stand that they already had. It is so loosely woven that when my husband laid in it to test it out, butt fell out of the bottom. I wouldn't recommend this item. ... show more

  • 2 Big THUMBS DOWN. Poor quality.
If I could leave no stars, I would, but I was forced to have at least one to ensure I made it clear how very disappointed I am in the quality of this hammock! Even worse, before today, it was my happy place!!! Tomorrow marks exactly one month since this hammock arrived at my house. It remained unopened for two weeks before we installed as I was building my pond and waterfall.... with hammock being the final touches. Anyways... been actually used since hanging it only a hand full of times even... longest time in actual hammock not even 30 minutes as I have a very busy 2 yr old. Went out this morning to feed the pond fish, do my rounds, like I do every morning (admire my handy works) and this is what I found. I specifically searched for and purchased this fabric and design hammock as to not collect rain or catch wind here in Michigan .... What a disappointment. Even worse is we are not the type of people well off and I'm not getting to shop another hammock after I finish this complaint. That was a present from my husband for the torchirerous work I endured to build my oasis by hand and from scraps of items acquired free.πŸ‘ŽπŸΌπŸ˜³πŸ˜  πŸ˜’πŸ‘ŽπŸΌ I've included pics of first what I found this morning.... and the last two pics were of my hard work, finally finished just a couple days ago... and the first time and now only time in my hammock enjoying it. ... show more

  • DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!! i am only being honest.
i purchased this for my husband's birthday. the ship time was great! the box was already torn open at the end. when he unrolled the new hammock, the "rope" is lacking in thickness probably affects it's overall strength, especially if exposed to outdoors-moisture, temperature, etc. in MANY places we noticed that the rope was already frayed, and unraveling!! i was so mad. how can a company ship something like this?? it wasn't a used hammock. and the end pieces, that come together before the wooden slats at both ends, were joined by some sort of see-through tape. i would never have purchased this. and now i have to spend time finding a different hammock for his gift, as well as, running up to UPS to return the defective product. ... show more

  • You get what you pay for? Be ready for it to stretch a lot and the wood spreaders to bend.
While I really like having the carrying case as it makes it look nice while stored in my garage, this doesn't seem to be of the greatest quality, or maybe my last hammock that a friend gave me when moving spoiled me. My hammock stand measures 14' from hook to hook. You'll need two lengths of chain at least 1' long in order to fit the hammock to a stand of this length. Be prepared to really work hard to stretch it as much as you can, because if you don't, you end up laying on the ground. My hammock stand's hooks are 3'6.5" from the ground. even with this thing stretched as much as I could do (holding the end of the hammock stand against my ribs while pulling it into place) you will still really since into it. And once you get out of it, you'll see that the center area of the bed is much looser than the outside edge. A few things could be happening here - the ropes could be made of some material that just stretches a lot and has a lot of elasticity, the outside edges could be of a shorter length than the center of the bed, making it difficult to stretch out while still loose in the middle, and after laying in it for a few hours in the sun yesterday I took it down to store overnight and noticed that the wooden spreader bars were bent or curved toward the bed in the center, which may also explain why the bed area is so loose. I've used this once yesterday and had to pull it tighter twice over the course of a few hours. It doesn't seem this was made to last more than a season or maybe a few uses. ... show more

  • Broke and injured us with total weight well under the limit.
My wife and I sat in the hammock for the first time just after getting it in the mail, total weight well under the 450 lb. limit, using a metal hammock stand. The metal ring that all the ropes tie to instantly bent/broke causing the hammock to fall, metal ring went flying and caused us to fall. Luckily I landed on grass beneath me but unfortunately my wife landed on the metal pole of the metal stand below us, right on her tailbone. Luckily it's not broken but it left my wife with a huge bruise and a ton of pain, causing her to not be able to get up off the ground for a few minutes afterwards. Couple days later and she's still sore/bruised, and the hammock is heading back to Amazon for a refund. This product is horrible quality and is out right dangerous. Buyer beware and consider spending a little more money on something better like I'm going to be doing now. ... show more
