Now as most of the other reviews have stated, yes it’s smaller than the rest of the collection. Smaller as in less thick. About 70% is the actual story, the rest of the book is like extra art and like a guide on the characters and story. Although it sucks that it’s smaller (cuz it does stick out) keep in mind all other books have 3 volumes in it while this one only has 2, book 40 and 41. So naturally it would make sense it la smaller. My guess is that they chose not to include the chapters that were not created by Kentaro Miura to honor the series in his name. In the book it states that they’re not sure what to do publishing wise but my guess is the rest of the chapters will probably only be available online/digital. None the less, still happy to have the full series now. ... show more

This deluxe volume contains the final chapters that the great Kentaro Miura personally worked on before his tragic passing and not going to lie its still sad just to read through and seeing that message to all fans legit made me want to cry Berserk is not only a masterpiece in the world of Fantasy but in great story telling as well. It sucks that we won't see Miura's ending but his best friend took the mantle as well as studio gaga to continue Miura's legacy and for that as a fan Im extremely grateful for and I will continue to support this series and what they have in store for us fans whether we have to wait a few years for the next deluxe volume they have my support and we as fans will continue struggling Rest easy Kentaro Miura know that both fantasy and anime fans still love your series and will continue to do so and now to reread Berserk once more from the very beginning. ... show more

    • Excellent and yet frustrating
Miura gets us to a revived Casca, drops a major spoiler shift in the characters, and then sadly passes away. This ends the original Miura plotted line and any future work will be similar based on outlines and partial plotting. In some ways, this volume ends up being the ultimate cliffhanger and one realizes for all the mysteries that were about to get answered, most of the main plot threats still remain unresolved. ... show more
