Great fireplace at a reasonable price
Size: 40"W27"H Set name: Electric Fireplace
I ordered this while debating whether or not to go with a more expensive Modern Flames or Dimplex unit and I was pleasantly surprised. The flames don't look realistic in an absolute sense of the word, but they are simple and create a pleasant effect overall. I checked out the other, more expensive units in a showroom and I felt like their "realistic" flames were less impressive overall because it was like they were trying too hard and still coming up short, which then only served to highlight that it was a $2500+ unit but still fake. Overall we are very pleased with this fireplace. It would be nice if it had adjustable feet for leveling, but instead I had to shim underneath it to get it to sit flush in our opening. As others have mentioned, the sound function is pretty chintzy, so that will stay turned off forever. The remote is not very good, either. I often find myself having to press buttons several times to get it to register. The buttons on the front of the fireplace work just fine, though, so I'll likely just use those to turn it on and off. The heater produces heat, but we live in Florida and won't have a reason to test that thoroughly for quite a while. ... show more
