  • The perfect gift knife.
Color: Graphite Black CF-Elite - Cerakote Finish
I bought this knife as a gift for someone not into knives but who I read as someone who might get into knives with some pushing. They appreciated it! I replace the scales it comes with with titanium scales. Frankly, I don't really see the point of the CF-Elite scales. They are still plastic (not true carbon fiber), and plastic is plastic, who cares what kind? The plastic scales give this relatively expensive knife a cheaper feel so I definitely recommend metal scales of some sort. Other than that, this is a perfectly designed knife. The blade is thin and very good at slicing. The axis lock is fun and with a little practice very easy to open and close the knife with one handed. The centering was perfect out of the box and after disassembling and reassembling it was still perfect. The pivot is buttery smooth with the bronze phosphor washers after I applied some knife pivot lube. People say the springs wear out but frankly I have not experienced that myself. Other than the scales, the only real downside is probably the price. ... show more

  • Perfect *LIGHT WEIGHT!!* EDC knife from Benchmade
Color: Alpine Glow Grivory - Cerakote Finish
The media could not be loaded. People that say “it’s a lot for a plastic knife” do not know this an incredibly lightweight durable material not your average shopping cart plastic, and feels good in the hand, very sharp S30V steel, and slim. If you are not looking for lightweight Benchmade has others that are quality. Of course don’t forget the lifetime warranty and sharpening! Very good for ambidextrous users like me opens easy in both hands with a flick of the wrist or the thumb stud. ... show more

  • Great knife
Color: Alpine Glow Grivory - Cerakote Finish
It seems like a good size edc knife. I’ve owned other Benchmade knives, and have been very satisfied with them.

  • OK knife but didn't compare to my Benchmade Super Freek
Color: Graphite Black CF-Elite - Cerakote Finish
I purchased the Bugout after hearing about the new updated handle. I'm all for a stronger handle and thought I'd give it a shot. I've carried a Super Freek 560 for two years now as my EDC and planned to replace it with the lighter Bugout. After receiving the Bugout I did a sort of non official comparison of the two. I put them in my pocket and jogged around the house to check the weight/feel. Sliced an apple with both knives, tried the handle in different positions, open close mechanism... I was really trying to find a reason to use the Bugout because it is such a cool little knife but I couldn't justify keeping it. It just seemed "cheap" in my hand compared to the Freek. It is lighter by 2.5 oz but I really couldn't notice a difference in my pocket between the two. The Freek sliced an apple the same or better because of the larger more ergonomic handle. For heavy use the Freek would be much more durable. I thought to myself why would I use the bugout if I can have a knife more rugged without much if any downside. In almost all cases I would take the freek over the bugout, even with my gym shorts. For that reason I returned the bugout and purchased another Freek. ... show more

  • Definitely an edc knife!
Color: Graphite Black CF-Elite - Cerakote Finish
Definitely an edc knife! I made the decision to purchase this knife because I wanted to retire my Griptilian which I've owned about 20 years. It was my 1st real quality blade, in comparison it's more substantial then its counter part the bugout. There is nothing wrong with the Benchmade bugout, accept that, it's good qualities work against it in my case. 1st the ergonomics, it feels very comfortable in the hand, i have small to medium size hands. I work as a handyman so there not skinny frail hands either. The knife is light, thin and it carries very well, you don't notice it's even there, and that's my concern. The griptilian is much bulkier/ robust so if it accidentally slips out of your pocket, you will feel it. Not do with the bugout. I enjoy using a more fuller knife, like the Coldsteel Recone 1. I do have other light, smaller blades like the Dosier which is a close comparison to the Bugout in size, weight and overall performance. It's not a 100% equivalent but at a fraction of the cost, it's pretty darn close, i choose not to carry the dosier for the same reason. It doesn't cost the same but the end result is a lost blade. If you make the purchase you won't be disappointed with the bugout, it's everything you thought it would be. I returned it, because I didn't want to toss it in a drawer and never use it but it is a good everyday carry. Hope this helps ... show more
