Needed a versatile vise for around the house DIY'er. Placed it onto a working platform and used this vise to hold down lawn mower blades to sharpen. Very easy to attach, vise has a great grippng force, and the vise"s rotating ability made this job easy to finish.

The included rubber covers have a sketchy petroleum smell as other reviewers have noted. The only thing I found a bit frustrating were the rubber caps that go over the jaws. They didn't seem to stay in place as well as they could have (i.e. they had a tendency to push themselves and the clamped piece upward as the vice was tightened), but this may have been because I was working on smaller (2-3" diameter, 0.5" width) projects at the time. Aside from that, I am happy with the overall quality and stability of this vice, and am looking forward to using it on some larger art projects.

Very nice , much better that I had expected , would have been fantastic if it would have worked where I wanted it to , originally got to hold small projects on the kitchen table if I didn’t want to drag my lazy buns to the garage , issue is the table does not have a 90 degree edge and as the throat (how far “in” the neck of the bottom mount goes) it won’t sit correct in my table , but I’ll find a use for it it truly is very well finished for the price , only thing it needed was a little grease on the spiral to make it very smooth , same for the swivel base

Very solid. Good size. Rubber pad fits okay. Swivel lock doesn't make you feel super secure. You can still move it with some force. Hope it doesn't move when using.

I was skeptical at first for getting something this good at this price, but this works well for my crafts, is very sturdy, and the grips work well, although the clamp grips might need an adhesive to stay on, as they don't have the most snug fit, though they do fit well otherwise. As for the other grips/protector grips, those work very well. I will mention that I received mine with a scratch on the anvil, but it's no biggie & won't affect the function.
