I was immediately impressed by the quality of this scraper. The handle is not hard plastic; it isn't slick when your hands are wet. The blade is sturdy and sharp. It is not as sharp as a knife but should go through many foods easily. An edge guard is included and slides on easily and firmly. All in all, it's a pretty good little implement. I couldn't bring myself to give it 5 stars, because I just could not get the plastic safety guard on. If anyone has managed to do that, could you please post a picture.? In the meantime, I will just continue using it and then return it to it's box for storage, as I don't want to hit that blade with my hand, in the drawer. I like this to cut my cinnamon roll logs into equal pieces and several pastry uses. ... show more

It is easy to use. Cuts great. If you are making bread, you can easily use this for cutting the dough. However, if you have a plastic scraper, you can also easily use the scraper to cut the dough and you will not need to buy this one.
