This seat features slow-close technology with the Whisper Close hinge that allows the lid to close slowly and quietly with no slamming or pinched fingers. The Easy Clean & Change hinges with non-corrosive bolts and wing nuts easily removes seat for easy cleaning and replacement . First, this is a quality seat, well made and an easy installation that will remain firmly mounted - if you have the proper hardware kit. Second, I ordered two of these and neither came with mounting hardware. The Bemis seat uses a unique mounting system and requires specific hardware to mount. With it, installation is literally a snap. My seats didn’t have the hardware kit that is specified on the instructions, fortunately I found two of the mounting kits at my local hardware store, I posted a front and back pic for your convenience. The Bemis nylon screws are very different, much larger than the “normal” or standard kits - make sure you use the Mayfair/Bemis kit, like the one in the pic. ... show more

Super easy to install. I had to make one adjustment because my toilet is an original 1940's. I just had to clip off the nut handle to screw it on. It was no big deal. Had I of known how easy this would be I wouldnt have paid people in past. Super happy.

Surprise, Surprise, Surprise, there are no images of the underside of the seat in this listing, so I attached one to this review. I had looked at other Bemis seats at a hardware store, but they did not have the Biscuit color that I needed. The underside of the seats that I looked at the store were flat and solid and had just two raised bearing points, so they were easy to clean. This seat has four bearing points and the seat is NOT flat on the underside, which makes it harder to clean with all the edges. Other then the underside of the seat, the seat is very nice. I purchased two seats one elongated and the other obround for two different toilets. Installation was very easy. ... show more

I ordered this (renewed) with the expectation that this would be what I ordered, but this is not slow closing as advertised. I only gave it two stars as it was the right color and installation was easy enough. I already installed it before I realized it wasn’t soft closing so I don’t think I can return it. Edit: I was just messing with the hinge and kept pumping it up and down and for some reason it actually started to soft close. I guess it had to be primed or something. This toilet seat is narrower in width than my older seat. More of the toilet bowl shows. I will give it a try to see how study it is. Color is fine. Not sure how easy it will be to clean because yet because of joints along back.
