This is the second Bemis seat and cover I have purchased for a blue Kohler toilet. It’s exactly the color I need, which is not necessarily easy to find. The seat fits well and is attractive. It is sturdy as well. The first one I owned discolored badly on the underside of the seat, but I did not heed the care instructions so it was my own fault. I used disinfecting bathroom cleaners ( such as Lysol foam) on it. Don’t do it! It indeed DOES ruin the finish of the seat. The instructions call for soap and water cleaning. I don’t feel like I get a disinfected surface, and that bothers me a bit. For that reason, I give this seat 3 stars. Why would you make a toilet seat, of all things, that can’t withstand most common bathroom cleaners? ... show more

This seat is super easy to install and the finish has lasted amazingly well! Purchased in blue because we were blessed with a 1970s fab bathroom and it matched perfectly. Recently was cleaning it with a wipe and the finish barely started coming off-this was due to the buildup of Febreeze air freshener spray dissolving the finish slowly over the hears so it’s our fault really. But it had held up so well that I am buying this same one again. If you keep air freshener spray away from it, should last for years! ... show more

This product look like the picture I ordered the blue one but it was the only thing good about it. After putting the toilet seat togther i noticed that i could only lift the too toilet seat up halfway. I guess they cut the bolts on the back of the toilet to high or something. Although it was easy to install i still need to purchase another seat. I guess its hard for some kids to hold a toilet seat up an piss at the same time. I waited to late to return it so therefore its just money wasted. ... show more

I ordered this seat for a spare bathroom we rarely use, which is why it has the original blue 80's decor. Trying to match the color blue was very difficult until I contacted Bemis customer service. They were fantastic (who knew there were so many "blues" !) The match was perfect so I give Customer Service 5+. The quality of the seat itself is a 5 star as well---sturdy and well made. Now for the problems. I have replaced many toilet seats and it is usually a five minute job. Not so here. First of all, I had never used this "locking" device and there were absolutely no instructions. Zero! Luckily I looked at all the amazon reviews and found a post encountering the same problems with excellent solutions. Thanks to that post I found the youtube video and was able to mount the seat correctly. However, more problems. The new nuts to tighten onto the bolts had "handles" that were too large. It was literally impossible to tighten the nuts because the long handle kept running into the toilet bowl. The old nuts from the original seat had cracked and were no good. So I went to Home Depot and purchased the standard toilet seat replacement nuts and bolts. The nuts worked perfectly. So what should have been a simple toilet seat replacement turned into a very frustrating morning. So the quality of the seat is a 5 star, installation a 1 star. ... show more
