We had this same toilet seat in blue. We had purchased it at a home improvement store, and it had no cleaning instructions. Lysol spray took off much of the blue color. Too bad, because we liked it. I found the same one here for less money, and a video tells me how to clean it. (Also how to install it, but we knew that. Our previous one was a quick-release as this one is, so we just swapped it out since the hardware was already in place.) It's a great seat once you figure out how to install it, no instructions were included in the box and the mounting system is different than "normal" toilet seats. First, you install the bolts. Second, you twist the "easy clean and change" hinge covers to the left. Third, you place the seat over the bolts. Fourth, wiggle the seat until the hinges are flat which may include loosening the bolts about a quarter turn (all that is possible) then retightening them. Finally, twist the hinge covers to the right to finish the installation. ... show more

That's when I decided to get this Bemis 500EC 068 Toilet Seat. Sure, they call it the Bemis 500EC 068 Toilet Seat, but I call it "paradise". A very well-designed toilet seat, with one important exception (that has been highlighted by others). Bemis needs to add another set of under-seat support bumpers ("stand-offs") between the bumpers that are there and the rear hinges. I've had two of these seats, over fourteen years, crack at a point between an original standoff and the hinge. I have used the "elongated" seat style and so I'm wondering if Bemis simply isn't taking into account the extra distance between their standard two supports and the rear hinges, on their elongated seat.
