Review of the 1.5 kW inverter I was able to burn it in for about 8 hours running off a 1120 AH Li battery bank powering a space heater. My kill-a-watt showed the heater was drawing 1.45 kW so this was definitely a stress test. It had no problems. 👍 The supplied wires are 25 mm^2 which is a little smaller than 3 AWG, they got a little warm during the run. For comparison in my motorhome the 2 kW inverter was wired from the factory with 2/0 AWG (67 mm^2). The indicated battery voltage on the inverter was ~.5 V below what my handheld DVM read, the AC voltage out reading was essentially the same as the kill-a-watt. The manual doesn’t say what type of battery the battery capacity bar graph is for, I’d venture a guess that it’s for flooded led acid and therefore not really useful for other battery chemistries. The bar graph for load level isn’t that useful, a numeric display of the load in watts would be much better. The bar graph was in the red for my run. Overall I’m pretty happy with the inverter so far and I’m impressed it was able to handle a load at essentially rated capacity for so long without letting the magic smoke escape. ... show more

This is an essential item that have to protect electrical components in appliances. We use this in conjunction with 12v lithium ion batteries when there is power outages. Very little voltage drop over the cable when running. Can handle startup for fridges, freezers and small air conditioners. It does however seem to bog down when running a microwave. I would think with it's surge rating that it could run a 900 watt microwave for a short time without audible slowdown and warnings, though it may have much higher peak loads than I expected. Overall solid and runs my window ac without hiccups or complaints which is mostly what I was aiming for. ... show more
