Box comes very heavy. Accordingly, the panels are all quite solid. Was very easy to put together, instructions were clear. Bed itself is so cute, and so far, holds up to my wild child of a toddler. She likes the books on the side of the bed. Could use more slats than come with it, I might try to add some. I notice when I sit on the bed with her, the mattress sinks a little, but when she’s on there by herself, it’s great. Stared with a 6un mattress so the sides serve as bars to prevent her from rolling off, but when she’s a little older, I’ll probably switch to a thicker mattress.

For the price, it’s okay. It is solid wood. Some of the finish is not done well. There are A LOT of screws..all of them actually…visible on the bed. It’s not a great look to see silver bolts all over a white bed. Even the top rail has screws in it that the heads have been painted white. There were no pre-drilled holes for the wood screws nor did it specify to pre drill in the instructions so the wood split when I put a screw in the bookshelf portion. There are only 8 slats for the mattress to sit on so I’m not sure how well it’ll work out for a 6” foam mattress. There is no center support on the bed which could prove to be a problem on the book shelf side as I can see it buckle slightly under the weight of a 50lb child. There are also rough edges that could definitely lead to a splinter or cut. It’s cute once you get past all the bolts and not worth the hassle to send it back. You get what you pay for and for solid wood this was fairly inexpensive.

Very poor finish on 2 of the 4 boards I pulled out, photos do not do it justice. Throughout the finish (light natural was the finish we chose) there was lines that looked like long chains of the letter “e” in cursive. I’m guessing they laid the pieces on some sort of fabric when it wasn’t fully dry. There was also large areas that were matte instead of gloss (not part of the grain)

The bed frame is sturdy and the design is great. The stain on the wood is not the best. The slats in between the rails are only stained and sanded on one side. There’s several spots that look like grey stains throughout the whole frame. The top corers of the legs aren’t really “rounded” they are still sharp corners. The design is neurotic and bed sturdy but with some things that can be fixed. Also I think the bed needs more than 7 slats to hold the mattress. The instructions require 9 1/2 inches of space between each slat which creates some sagging in between each slot. I have a juniper 6 inch mattress on this frame.

It is very sturdy! I bought this for my 9 month old and she loves it! I did buy corner and long border protectors because it was kinda hard and pointy but it fits great! I did an 8inch mattress and it still works! Husband put it together in around 3-4 hours but it holds up super well and my husband, baby and I can all fit here comfortably. The bookshelf was a nice touch too!
