I also bought the solid blue, black polka dot, they are made with different materials (why are they made differently? I am not a big fan of the material. It is thin and feels cheap) I know. I absolutely adore these skirts and hope that some bright/spring colors come back in stock soon. I own a whole bunch of colors and can confidently say to order your regular size in the normal skirts, and one size up in the plaid ones, which are slightly heavier/fuzzier fabric and smaller at the waist. These look gorgeous with any bodysuit, are a nice length even for tall women like me, and hold their color and quality well in the washer and dryer.

The material is thinner and a smoother material than I thought and prefer. This makes it a bit static prone and not the best for warmth in the winter. Color is great, construction is fine.

Picture includes a skull lace underskirt I made that isn't part of this skirt. Negatives: The material is a synthetic mix that makes it feel kind of like a wind breaker and does make that quiet swishing noise when it rubs against itself that those puffy winter coats make (but the skirt isn't as loud as those coats). The material is thinner and lighter weight than I expected but it is NOT see through even in direct sunlight. I've noticed in the winter the static can get pretty bad where it wants to cling to my legs or my tights. A petticoat with a silk liner or just a silk slip takes care of it. A petticoat also gives the skirt a bit more volume. Positives: The material actually is a really good thing if you have shedding animals because this is the only black thing I own that isn't covered in dog hair. The stretching waistband has a lot of give to it so if you're in between sizes you're safe to order this product and have it fit you. I love that is has pockets that are big enough for my phone and (small) wallet in one pocket together. I've had this skirt for months now and wear it regularly, the stitching and elastic have held up really great through numerous washes and events. Great for me but maybe not everyone: I'm about 5'3" and this skirt is above my ankle but only by a few inches. I love this length but it was a few inches longer than advertised so it's closer to an ankle length on me than a tea length.

The yellow/blue plaid skirt was NOT flatteringโ it made my hips look much larger and my torso look very short. I think it was a triple whammy of the plaid pattern, pockets (though awesome and deep), and pleating. Also, the elastic sides/back would have been visible from the front; each end of the thick waist fabric sat on my abdomen- 2-3 inches from The sides of my waist. I tried having the waistband sit in my lower abdomen, at hips, and above hips. It just looked funky every time. I have an hourglass shape. Hemline fell a few inches below knees (of course, dependent on waistline height) I rated 4 stars because the construction seems really well made and the fabric is soft, heavy, and appeared durable (NOTE: the plaid patterned skirts use a heavier fabric). I liked the thick waistband, which still had 2-3 inches of stretch when pulled taught away from my body. I hope others can make this skirt look cute :)

Update-Update: So I bought yet another one of these (Da*mn you Amazon, I should be able to review each color, especially since they are different materials!!!) I bought the "Red Floral". First, the background color is not white, it looks more like a dingy, dirty off-white. I was thinking this would be perfect for fall, but I can tell you, this dress is see-through BOTH the front and back side together when you hold it up to light. That's right, by grabbing the each side of the waist band and holding it up flat, I can see through 2 layers. This dress ABSOLUTELY NEEDS A LINING. If you have a slip with details on it, it will show through. The color is a deep orange-red, and there is not quite the variation of color the picture depicts. It's pretty much deep orange-red and brown on a dirty white background. Not the lovely print and good fabric I was hoping for. This one goes back too. Be careful what you buy. Some are great, but there is no way without a lining this dress is worth more than $30---Belle Poque be scammin' or dreamin'. Update 7/19/22: I just ordered 3 more of this skirt. I got the dark red solid, the red and navy plaid, and what I thought from the pictures was a pink/mauve plaid. All 3 plaids are the same material as my first review of the green and black plaid below, and the flannel feeling material. Even though it pilled a bit, on the green and black plaid (my first of this skirt), it's not really noticeable when I am out and about. I think the same will be true for the red and navy. HOWEVER, THE "PINK PLAID" IS NOWHERE NEAR PINKISH MAUVE AND CREAM COLOR the picture shows. It's dark red and tan. So disappointed in Belle Poque, because the pictures are NOT accurate with this one. I already have the solid dark red and the navy and dark red plaid, I don't need another dark red skirt. I wanted a pink plaid to change it up. This one will be going back due to false advertising. I hate the way Amazon only gives you only one review, even if you buy several different skirts. It's BS. I want to give the bad description skirt 1 or 2 stars, but the others are 4 to 5 stars. So...beware and look closely at pictures. Also, the solid red skirt is a thick polyester. It's fine as far as the material, however, the color is an odd red. It's not a bright red or deep scarlet red, but almost a deep tomato red (with hints of rust and orange in the color), which means it does not go with most red things. So finding accessories to match will be a nightmare. They should keep this details in mind when they choose fabric. Most people would want a bright red or scarlet red, which would give them more choice in terms of tops, sweaters, jackets and shoes. Now I have to buy some other thing to match this skirt. After the off colors of the "red floral," and the "mauve" plaid which is really burnt red and tan, and now this off color, that's three article of clothing that nothing will match. So even though the price is OK-ish, it's now expensive, because I have pay out more to have something to wear with these skirts, because I can't very well just wear the skirt alone with my bra out in public. Pity. Original Review: I have gotten several compliments on this (black/dark green plaid) skirt. It can be worn very high on the abdomen or at mid waist, because there is some elastic in the back which makes it versatile. Size chart is accurate, so take your measurements. But it's a flannel like fabric, and somewhat heavy, so it's definitely late fall, early spring and winter attire. Plus, it's already pilling just a little. You can only see it at this point up close, but I dread it may get worse. I just wish this skirt was a bit shorter. I am 5'7" tall and it hits me about 7" from the floor. It would be a great retro, 1950's look if it were tea length. I may hem it. I was hoping I could wear it late spring and summer, but it's too heavy for that. A crinoline really dresses it up, and I can say, with the correct layering a good long coat, it's really warm for cooler climates.

This is a beautiful skirt. However, the fabric is too rubbery in my opinion. I would have like more cotton in the blend.
