I've always loved tweed, but for some reason they're above the knee and my price range. I'm way past 50, I'm not interested in going back to my 20's or 30's, but am always searching online especially Dillards who has spectacular cloths for my age. These skirts have been extremely impressive and priced right for my minuscule budget. I've lost a lot of weight, so they're not tight, but very classy and comfortable. And they're NOT cut on the side so I don't have to worry about skin showing. That's not why I wear nice clothes, I want to be tasteful, not desperate. The grown men that I work with, they're at least impressed by the style, and I noticed some of their wives have changed their looks too. Not that they could pull off a pencil skirt, but they've upped their appearance. Women at all ages should try looking nice, it makes a difference how you feel, far more confident and their smiles radiate sunshine. So ladies, at 50+ years, I say 'yes,' a tweed skirt is a must for your closet.

The skirt is really cute. There was some unexpected silver gleam in the color. Love the little kick pleats and no slits. I like that the tweed material is on the lighter side. The waist seemed a little snug when zipping it. But the material had enough stretch that it was comfortable to wear for an 8 hour work day. Ordered XL, it was the size recommended. XXL probably would have given me a little more room.

The fabric will hug curves and runs more true to size/ small. I think that depends on the fabric. The fabric isn’t over stretchy and doesn’t feel cheap. I’m not sure that I love the style of this skirt but it is of very decent quality. I could have done without the bows over each box pleat. The texture makes the skirt perfect for styling and photos if you need diversity in textile depth. The golden yellow boucle texture and the flat purple collar both offer.
