I purchased this to replace an older Bella coffee maker that I had for years. We loved it and it was a workhorse in our house and looked nice to boot. When it finally died, I wanted to stick to the brand since we had such a good experience with it and bought this one. This one worked well for almost exactly 2 months. One day, I brewed a pot of coffee and heard a crack to see that the carafe had cracked on the side near the handle. Still not sure what caused it, and was disappointed that it happened after such a short time, but it was clearly not supposed to do this and I thought for sure the company would help with a replacement part. They did not. Trying to get a replacement part or machine was the most aggravating experience I have ever had with customer service. They were impersonal form e-mails that didn't care at all about the issue. At the end, they were unwilling to replace or exchange the machine. The only remedy was to physically mail a check for below replacement cost. Horrendous. I will never purchase this brand again and advise anyone else to steer clear and choose another brand that will actually provide service in the unfortunate event something goes wrong. Simple, compact, attractive, no frills. Classic drip coffee design, can use with included mesh basket or paper filters. Coffee had a plastic taste for the first 10 or so pots (even after cleaning and running hot water batches first), but fine after. Does not drip when removing the carafe or when pouring from it, unlike my Mr. Coffee model. Programmable feature works as expected. No beeping. No options beyond on/off. Love the "oatmeal" (light taupe) color; much less stark than traditional white, blends well in the kitchen. I wish the (black) power cord were also taupe. ... show more

Would use a coffee filter, the little basket to use without one is hard to clean and a mess to deal with. The company sent me a toaster first and easily sent me the coffee maker. The toaster does not work that well ..we had the skinny one but the one they sent was a larger one and one side of the coils didn't work right. ... show more
