Had to use a rubber mallet to install these. But they slide across my vinyl flooring without running away. Makes it safer to sit down.

We got these to replace our casters for our luxury vinyl floor and have been using them for a little over a month. They were very easy to install and they do the job as intended, to not scratch our floor. But, it does take much more effort to slide the chair to the desk or away from the desk when seated. I wanted to wait to do this review as it was very difficult to move the chair at all at first, but with time it has become less difficult.

Very well built and designed. I never knew something this clever existed till I started searching for a general footing for a chair with wheels. These are really neat having a spring loaded rubber footing inside the hard felt padding of each base. You can either lock them in place or allow each rubber stabilizer to come down when weight is placed in the chair. I also like how it's kind of an additional spring cushioning when sitting down. These are very nice for hard floors you want to protect. They even come with a tool to help with the install. Great quality.

These feet are just what you need if you want to use an office chair on hardwood without damaging your floors or using a protective pad. You will quickly get used to sitting up to allow the sliders to pop down for chair movement. You will also quickly appreciate that your chair won’t roll around—it will stay put until you want it to move. I’ve tried several different “non marking” chair wheels and these are the only things I’ve found that actually work.

I have hardwood floors and all of my furniture have felt pads on the bottom to prevent damage. I wanted to give these a try expecting the same results but the felt on these do not slide near as easily as would expect. I have a secret labs chair that is very heavy and from reading the reviews, I know the springs would not be strong enough to keep the rubber portion from touching the floor and it was not. The chair weight alone is too much that it will not budge from the rubber. Because of this, I locked the spring that keeps the rubber from making contact and still the chair does not move as easily as it would if I had used normal felt furniture pads. The need for the rubber feet is pretty much nonexistent as when you sit down it isn't going to move easily with just felt. These replaced clear rollerblade type wheels which I loved but I use my chair for flight simulators and working rudders made the chair move around too much. These solve that problem completely so for the intended purpose, they work. They keep a good bit of height to the chair which is also good. I do feel believe the construction having the center hole for the rubber pads will compromise longevity of the felt lasting due the weight of the chair and the force required to still use them. If not needing something that would stay in place, the rollerblade wheels are far superior in every way for what I need. I still think the overall quality is there to give them a good rating but only if you have a light office chair. I would rather have these with a complete flat bottom with some heavy duty felt as used on furniture protectors. That would have been a much better option for many making it more durable and much easier to slide.
