  • Best for ATV4K#2.
I originally used an ultra high speed cable that worked okay, but I had little hiccups when using my soundbar,tv, and ATV4K and I mean little pauses, disconnects etc.My tv is a Sony A90J,my soundbar is Sony A7000 and an atv that I bought this winter.I connect my ATV through my soundbar as it’s capable of pass through for HDR and Vision. Apple apparently uses this particular cable for their testing and that’s the only reason why I purchased a $30 cable, but I’m extremely happy as my internal tv streaming was slowing down and the ATV was blazingly fast, along with improving picture quality and better audio.Make sure you have or can borrow a iPhone to set the ATV up at first.Anyway, the cable has been truly amazing and I’d say I’ve had NO MORE HANDSHAKE ISSUES. If you’re hesitant to pay $30 for a cable that normally costs $10(I was too)at least give it a shot.If you’re not having any problems with your current cable, then obviously keep it, but if you’re experiencing problems as I was,or especially if you’re going to be using a soundbar(or HomePods)having a tv with earc is a big deal, but not absolutely necessary. If using the input as I do with the soundbar, first make sure that your soundbar is capable of pass through for hdr,Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, etc, and BUY THIS ASAP. I’m totally one of those people who doesn’t waste money on equipment that won’t make a difference. BASICALLY,all hdmi cables are the same, depending on your exact needs. I would say when using a 2.1 port with a 2.0 cable which people do,everything else will have trouble. Now I started using a cheap certified ultra high speed cable that didn’t click for some reason (maybe just an Apple thing?) as it should have.It was 48gbps which is important, but the Belkin Ultra High Speed Certified cable with Dolby Vision has just been amazing. No more issues, which when running many devices,IS A GREAT THING! Don’t listen to people who say it’s a scam, especially when running an ATV4K. GREAT HDMI CABLE,thanks Belkin. ... show more

  • Nice cables... but did it fix my problem?
My Apple TV with Denon X4300 receiver was having a lot of trouble with video and audio going in and out. Apple TV told me to use an ultra high speed HDMI cable... note the word "ultra"... which seems to mean 48Gbps.... which is much higher than your standard cable of 18Gbps. This cable is even suppose to support 8K at 60Hz so you can probably consider it "future proof" for the next 10 years or so. Anyway, I bought 2 of these to replace this cable from Apple TV to my receiver and from receiver to 65" OLED TV. Didn't work. Then I tried plugging the HDMI cable into a port on the back of my receiver instead of the HDMI port on the front and IT WORKS!!! So maybe that was my problem all along but since Apple TV recommends this cable and it seems to be a fine, "future proof" 48 Gbps cable I think I'll just keep it (even though it's expensive) and stop messing around with cables. If you can afford an Apple TV in the first place then you should be able to afford an ultra high speed HDMI cable (48 Gbps). And maybe that's why the Apple TV doesn't come with an HDMI cable in the first place... because they would have to include an expensive "ultra high speed" one that would jack up the price even higher. But if your Apple TV isn't working, try a different port on your receiver, especially if you're using an AUX port on the front... perhaps the AUX port on the front is more limited than the standard HDMI ports ones in the back. ... show more

  • 4k/60hz/HDR PC gaming at last for my projector!
Finally one that gets the job done. Lesson learned with new specs like 4k/60hz/HDR/RGB 8bit/4:4:4 etc. is to always use cables with higher specs than required. I've got enough hdmi cables(1.4-2.0) in my house now to open up my own store along with many different types of displays from 1080/3d to 4k/3d. Different devices have different needs. I've got a phillips 4k player connect via 40ft 18Gbps optical HDMI to an Optoma UHD60 and that works great for 4:4:4 24p 4k/HDR. Same cable couldn't help my pc(Strix 1080ti) do 4k/60hz. I even tried a number of other 4k/HDMI 2.0 cables I have(all 6 feet or less) and they didn't work either. Tested it with RGB 8bit(HDR games RE7 and MEA) @ 4096x2160/60hz and no problem. Things looked incredible! I also tested on a number of other equipment in the house and honestly the handshakes even seem quicker now. Watched a 3d movie(x-men days of future past) on our 4k/3d t.v. and the picture even looked clearer(no signs of ghosting). It's really a shame that the display cable market is such a hot mess. It seems obvious to me that the specs being recommended by many experts are usually a bare minimum and what works for one person won't for another. My only recommendation is to always get more than what you think you need because odds are you're going to need it after all. ... show more

  • Pricey but needed for Dolby Vision @ 60hz on Apple TV 4K
We had just setup our new TV and wanted to experience 4K HDR as the Director of various movies intened their audience to experience...in Dolby Vision. Immediately after enabling all the settings on the TV, I switched over to the Apple TV 4K and it prompted me with a message to Try Dolby Vision. Upon trying it, it failed & switched back to HDR10. I frantically tried again, same result. Noooo, was this TV that is so highly rated not capable of playing Dolby Vision @ 60hz? Apple’s HDR support guide suggested to try this high-speed HDMI cable. I didn’t think a cable was the issue but tried everything else so gave it a try. I did a quick search on amazon, 1 day shipping and anxiously waited for the delivery guy. As soon as the packed arrived I immediately swapped out the cable and bam, Dolby Vision at 60hz worked!! This cable is great but Apple really should have included this with the Apple TV 4K. One con is long runs, cable is 6ft. This will work for like 99% of setups, but my particular setup runs cables to a media cabinet on the side of the room, which is about 20ft of cable. I had to move my Apple TV 4K from my media cabinet and mounted it behind the TV instead. Worked great. ... show more
