At the time of my review there are still a lot of reviews from people who got the product for free. I purchased the product and there are a lot of Sherpa blankets on Amazon and every review says they’re both thick and thin. I was looking for a thicker blanket for a reasonable price. I would not call this blanket thick but it isn’t thin. Also, I wouldn’t call it heavyweight or lightweight. On both accounts I’d say it was middle of the road. I got this blanket when it was discounted to $24 and the short version is that I think this is a great blanket for that price. If you want more detail, please keep reading or stop now and avoid the additional detail. The color is interesting (I purchased gray) and it almost changes color based on lighting. In some conditions it looks more blue and less gray and in other lighting it appears more like the picture. In addition, the non-Sherpa side is somewhat shiny, which I didn’t love. That same fleece side also has, for lack of a better word, a grain. It is softer in one direction when you run you hand over it and there is more resistance when moving your hand the opposite way. The stitches look good and seems well sewn. I ordered the queen size and I find the extra size to be incredible. The Sherpa side of the blanket is a little less dense than I would like but there is still plenty of loft to it. As far as warmth goes, I’m using this in a moderate climate and it is perfect for us. It sure how it would compare to very cold climates. To recap, this blanket has some shortfalls, mainly it isn’t quite as thick as I wanted and the sheen on the colored side isn’t great. However, the blanket is very soft and had a good weight to it and for the price I think it is a good buy. I’m enjoying the size and softness. If you’re looking for a great budget blanket, I’d call this one the best for the sub $30 category.
