  • The Behringer HPS3000 Studio Headphones - A Fine-Sounding Headphone
Configuration: Over-Ear Style: Studio
The media could not be loaded. The title says it all - these Behringer HPS3000 Studio Headphones produce very good sound, especially when the price is considered. I'm sure you have read the many negative reviews here, especially those which complain about the longevity of this product. I can sympathize with those people who may have had some problems but I cannot claim to have had any myself. Well, you could say, "Okay. He bought ONE set and he was lucky; his are good ones." You could say that - but you'd be wrong. I did not buy one set; I bought SIX sets - and from two different vendors at different times. The last three were purchased from Amazon. You can see all six in my video. All have functioned perfectly from Day 1 and all continue to function perfectly. Most importantly, all have functioned identically, a sign of superb design and quality control. Two of them have been across the country and back. Over the years I have owned many headphone sets (including a very expensive one made by another German company whose name begins with S and ends with R; this set, which lasted about four years, is now a permanent resident of our local landfill). I use headphones extensively. I bought one of these HPS3000s some time ago and I was surprised (actually astounded) by the clarity of sound they produced. These Behringers have sound quality which, in my opinion, is superior to that of those other German headphones, especially in the bass and the crystalline highs produced. It is also superior to most other headphones I have heard, including Sony and Bose. (But I have to say that they are noticeably inferior to the TASCAM TH Series TH-MX2 Studio Headphones which, however, are somewhat more costly - though the difference won't break the bank.) I listen frequently via these headphones to CDs on the Lyrita Recorded Edition label; if you are familiar with that name, you know that they have achieved the finest sound quality yet available on CD (not quite, of course, as good as that available on SACD - but very close). Do you want to try a sampling? Try this: Celebrating 50 Years Devoted To British Music, Set One ; if you like that set, then try this one: Celebrating 50 Years Devoted To British Music, Set Two . Not only is the sound quality spectacular, so is the music quality! In my opinion, these Behringer headphones are very good - in terms of sound quality, construction quality, and value for money. Period. That's why I wound up buying a total of six of them. (And yes I have specific uses for all six.) My older headphones, of which I have many, now reside in a box in my basement. (But my new TASCAMS are the ones I shall use when listening seriously via headphones.) As for comfort, I think that is highly subjective. I have found these to be at least as comfortable as any I have owned in the past and really a bit better than most. They are lightweight (though 'clunky' looking) and they cover my ears completely (but they are not noise-canceling). The headband is also very comfortable. Once I put them on, I do not have to adjust them further and I listen generally for three or four hours at a time. But the only way for you to know for sure if they fit you comfortably is to try them. They fit me just fine. (My older headphones are also, for the most part, comfortable.) Obviously I highly recommend these Behringers to you. I also highly recommend that you buy them from Amazon. If by chance you were to receive a defective pair, you could return them to Amazon at absolutely no cost to you. (If you ask, Amazon will schedule a pickup at your home or place of business so you don't even have to take the package to the post office or a different shipping facility.) You can request an exchange or a refund. The choice is yours. But after buying, owning, and extensively using these six pair, I am confident that, if you buy a set, you will have the same experience as I have had. (I should also say that I own several other Behringer products: Behringer UCA202 Audio Interface , Behringer UCA222 U-Control Ultra-Low Latency 2 In/2 Out USB Audio Interface with Digital Output And Downloadable Software Bundle , and Behringer PP400 Ultra-Compact Phono Preamp . I am 100% satisfied with all of them. And, other than as a completely satisfied customer, I have no connection whatsoever with the Behringer company.) I would give these headphones 50 stars if I could, especially when you consider the ridiculously low price asked for them (compare the price to that of any other high-quality set of headphones). I paid far less for my six Behringers than I did for the one expensive set I mentioned above. In conclusion, it is my opinion that, if you want "prestige" or "coolness," then you buy Beats by Dr. Dre, Bose, Sennheiser, or some other $300.00+ headphones. However, if all you want is comfort and fine sound quality over many hours, then you buy these. I thank you for reading this, for watching my video, and for considering my opinions. Lawrence H. • I got unlucky and it broke within 3 weeks
Configuration: Over-Ear Style: Studio
This is, overall, a decent product. The sound quality is pretty good. It doesn't sound cheap at all. Very clear. I also like how it doesn't amplify the bass so much. I hate when headphones do that. I struggle hearing high noises so these headphones balances out the the different pitches well. My only problem is that the headphones sort of broke within 3 weeks. Only one ear has constant noise while the other ear only has noise when the cord is in a certain position. There is a 3 month warranty so you can talk to the manufacturer but the process is confusing and a pain. You have to sign up for a confusing website and select the very specific headphones you have on that website, show proof of purchase, find the item number, select your problem (they don't let you write a simple email about what's wrong), then you specify the problem. If they accept your reasoning you have to send the product to them for them to fix. I needed my headphones though so I didn't send it. I just taped my headphones cord in a certain position and it works. I'd rather not do that but I'd also rather have headphones now than have it gone for a couple of weeks. I got very unlucky with my headphones though, perhaps you'll get better luck. The headphones are pretty low in price and had good audio quality. ... show more

  • Very good cans
Configuration: Over-Ear Style: Studio
I am a bass player and broadcast engineer. I bought these based on reviews outside of Amazon. I was concerned because they were almost "too cheap' in price but Behringer has a good reputation. There are nice lightweight headphones with a good sound and they don't get too warm. I like them.

  • snug and good sound, maybe too snug
Configuration: Over-Ear Style: Studio
Delivers good audio sound while cutting out a lot of external noise. Only thing is it gets a little uncomfortable if you wear for longer time.

  • Can be cranked like crazy, but you won't need to
Configuration: Professional Style: DJ
30 years plus in the dj game and I have owned and auditioned plenty of cans. I grabbed these because I was more curious than anything. This brand intrigues me and much to my surprise these things are are crazy good. These are not audiophile headphones and are not meant to be. These are dj headphones and meant to be used as such. With that stated, these are absolutely qualified for pro use in my book. They do not distort even when you push them to outer limits and do the job to give you a distinguishable and punchy sound for mixing. They do not have to be pushed that hard to accomplish what you need. Well done, Behringer! ... show more

  • Not at all bad for the price
Configuration: HD Style: DJ
I needed a new set of headphones that didn't break the bank and found these. Nice and comfortable, and for the price you really can't go wrong.

  • Perfect for my digital piano!
Configuration: HD Style: DJ
I spent a few k on a Yamaha digital piano but only have quality time to practice in the evening hours. In order to keep my toddler from waking up I needed a solution for this dilemma. These work perfectly. The cord is long and doesnโ€™t get in the way. They are comfortable, as I have worn them for 2 hours at a time, and the sound quality is spot on. ... show more
