Very nice laptop computer without monitor or keyboard. Has room for SATA drive add on. Suitable for Office products or for use as a media player. Fast booting and program loading. Plenty of performance for web browsing. Not suitable for graphics intensive games. I will be replacing an older desktop computer. I'm after the space and energy saving. I don't play video games, so it's fine. I also work remotely, so I need Windows Pro. It's all plastic, but fit and finish is excellent. I appreciate that it comes with a short and a long HDMI cable. Nice if you mount it on the back of a monitor. I suspect some business travelers will pop it in a suitcase and plug it into a hotel TV. It's very lightweight and has space for a second drive if you need the storage. I installed a 2 TB drive in a few minutes. You just need a small Phillips screwdriver. It seems to have a microphone for Cortina, but I turned it off during setup. The Windows version needs a lot of updates. It took more than an hour to download and install them. It took several reboots, and several manual restarts of Windows Update. This actually went faster than some desktop computers I've built. ... show more

    • Found serious issue
Found issue - writing this after 6 months of usage. SSD storage (512GB) finally broken and become Read Only. I have spent almost one week to find it out, since initially it was preformed as Windows 10 issue after November Update. Some system files become ReadOnly and during Windows update those files were not replaced. As result - getting Blue Death after 10-15 minutes of working and Windows trying to finish update every booting and restore all old settings and files. Even I could not re-install the system from scratch. It seems SSD card was bought from cheap/bad seller. I did not use this PC intensively, so 6 months to be broken is very short period for HD. ... show more

    • Feature rich with solid performance.
Just set this up and thus far I am very impressed. I will be using it primarily for videoconferencing connected to a big screen TV. The unit itself is extremely compact but has plenty of ports for USB, Ethernet, video, etc. WiFi is also built in. I am using with a Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse. Setup was smooth and easy. Win 10 Pro fired right up and no issues with config. First thing I did was to install bitdefender and run a full scan. No issues found. It did take a while to download and install all of the Windows updates. More important, they applied with no issues. I do think the bigger 512gb did and 8gb memory is well worth the small additional cost. I doubt this is a gaming machine and have not tried. For internet, office, etc it is ideal. My limited testing with Teams, Skype and Zoom have all run flawlessly. I can't speak to longevity but will update this review should I encounter any problems. Again, very impressed. The flash sale price made it even better. Then again, my first PC had a single floppy drive, 128k of RAM, no hdd, and cost around $2 grand without a monitor.     • Wanted it to work, but ....
Looked at a mini pc to replace an old stick PC. Shopped for a month, looking at specs, size, name, cost. Settled on the U55 i3 with a 512g ssd. A bit pricy but had good specs. Never got a windows screen. Just a beelink logo screen and a spinning circle at bottom. 4 hours later, same thing, let run overnight, finally a different screen, reset required, window repair, loose personal files (had none). OK reset, back to spinning circle another 2 hours. Two days- turned off - returned item. ... show more

Two things, I am writing this review about the Beelink U55 8gigs and this a first impressions review. First impressions means I will update my review over time, which is only fair for a piece of electronic equipment that people expect to last. After ordering this device and going back to the product page, I almost canceled the order because out of nowhere 1 star reviews popped up. I decided to go ahead with the purchase. After reading the 1 star reviews the first thing I did after receiving the machine was start the machine up on an isolated network. I had no problems with the windows operating system and after the windows updates, I did two deep scans. Found no viruses, so very good there. For me, the overall design is very good. I like how compact it is and light weight it is, I was able to mount it easily using command strips to a well ventilated surface. The fan was very quiet for a pc fan of any kind under normal conditions. However when you put the machine under stressful tasks, like running deep scans, you will hear the fan speed up, but I did not find it annoyingly so. The one problem I did encounter was with the hdmi out ports. This, at this point may or may not be a Beelink problem. During setup I tried to connect a regular TV as a monitor, it did not work, nothing but snow. I switched to a regular pc monitor and that worked. Later on I connected a TV via the second hdmi port. It worked fine for a few days, then it became a problem to get it to connect. Finally I switched out the cables for different ones. Using one of the two cables provided by Beelink, the second one was far to short to be useful. At this point, the machine has performed well for ordinary pc tasks. The apps open quick enough, internet is much better than the 8 year old laptop I was using. It handles streaming to my tv from my home server while I am still using the internet quite well. Bluetooth and wifi work really well. I am not a gamer of any kind nor do I do any editing of movies, so my thoughts on how this machine will handle those things is non existence. One final note, I made sure to include exactly what I was reviewing the Beelink U55 8 gigs, because so much of Beelink’s products seem to get conflated in the reviews. ... show more
