PROs: This Beelink SEi8 Mini PC has a i5-8279U SOC. It is very fast. Many SOC comparisons rate the i5-8279U performance in the top 30 percent of all modern SOCs for overall performance. The mainboard also seems quite good. The included 16GB RAM is plenty for my purposes. The 500GB SSD drive is lightning fast. Single FHD 1080p HDMI performance is also excellent using either HDMI port. The preinstalled Windows 11 Professional OS works well. I also was able to repartition the SSD successfully and thereafter was able to install a Debian-based Linux distributon with a UEFI GRUB2 bootloader. The machine easily boots to either Windows or Linux as I please. Power consumption is much lower than my 2018 HP laptop, another bonus. CONs: Following the included instructions to flash update UEFI Firmware to enable Auto Power On functionality DID NOT WORK. i would like to use Auto Power On. So, I consider that this is an unfortunate shortcoming. I have contacted neither the seller nor the manufacturer about this problem yet. However, I intend to do so. The included mounting bracket is too small to attach the SEi8 to the rear of my FHD TV (1080p HDMI monitor). Also, because I have many peripheral devices attached to the SEi8 box, which will also need to be mounted, I will need to fabricate a custom bracket for that purpose.

I've got this computer acting as a media server since my NAS doesn't have an intel processor for video acceleration. After the initial setup, I placed this new computer on my media rack without a monitor, keyboard or mouse and have it hooked up to ethernet. I use the built in windows remote desktop feature found on the pro versions of operating systems to connect to it from my other computer or phone. After opening up a port on my router I can even connect to the computer through my phone when I'm hundreds of miles away from home. It's pretty awesome. I can turn my main computer off at night and this mini computer keeps on running. Feels way faster than my laptop and when it comes to browsing and responsiveness in general feels at least as fast as my computer with an 8700k in it. Not sure how well it would do for gaming or any intense productivity programs, but for general use this thing is great.

Received two days ago, when I saw the box I was amazed how small ti was then I opened the box and the computer only took up about half of space inside! Be aware if you are not mounting unit on TV, hdmi cable is INCHES long, so you may need a longer one. Setup was easy, just needed my own hdmi cable. Spent a couple of hours running windows update, which you would do with any new computer. Installed ful version of Microsoft Office runs flawlessly, strange thing usb ports are upside down. I purchased a ups to protect system from power surges. Zoom meetings are flawless, you need your own camera and I use a headset. It's not much bigger than Roku ultimate and very easily could be mounted on TV. BTW load time on Microsoft Word, and excel almost instantaneous. Very pleased so far! Also running 2 hdmi monitors no sweat. REMEMBER as with any new pc plan on doing all updates before using took me at least 2 hours to do, multiple reboots needed, this is normal or you will have an unstable machine that may reboot on you.

This review is for the Beelink SEi12 i5-12450H mini-PC I've read a number of posts complaining about the displays going to sleep and the device never waking up. I can confirm that this is a BIG problem with this Beelink SEi12 Core i5-12450H 12th Gen Intel mini PC. I've contacted Intel support, noting that ANY Intel ARC drivers after version 31.0.101.5085 DO NOT WORK with this device. Intel has not been very helpful, which is why I will NEVER buy an Intel discrete Graphics card. Their support is bad in general...stick to AMD or Nvidia for GPUs, avoid Intel. Symptoms: after installing Intel ARC GPU drivers newer than 31.0.101.5085, when the display goes to sleep, the mini-PC will NOT WAKE until you hold the power button down and power it back on again. A VERY annoying problem to say the least. The ONLY solution is to roll back to 31.0.101.5085 Intel ARC drivers to fix this problem. These drivers were released by Intel on 1/2/2024. Whether or not this is a problem with the Beelink SEi12 firmware/BIOS or a problem with Intel's drivers is unknown. I suspect Beelink's firmware may be the issue here, and Beelink very rarely updates their firmware, if ever. I've used newer Intel ARC drivers with other Mini-PCs, such as Beelink's S12 N100 mini PC, and haven't had any problems. Either way, the SEi12 i5-12450H has had problems with Intel ARC GPU drivers since January 2024...it's now April as I post this review, and no fix. Be forewarned with this mini-PC that you may be stuck using legacy drivers because of poor bios/firmware support on Beelink's side. If Beelink reads this review FIX YOUR FIRMWARE. /end of review.

I got this because I wanted a small computer that I can move around as I move around a lot. I tried to play games with my roomates but each round then my computer would crash as it couldn't handle the games, even on the lowest settings. The value for basic use is great but anything like watching movies or playing games is the worst as it constantly crashes and you can't improve the quality at all.
