Beelink has gone and made a beast of a mini PC with the GT-R by taking advantage of the incredible performance and TDP of the Ryzen 3550H. I purchased this unit originally as a media pc/server, however it is powerful enough that I'll likely use it to help setup a minecraft server (a very CPU intensive application). The integrated graphics (AMD Vega 8) is incredible at running games on steam, and you can easily use this as a main gaming system. If you are limited on space, or you'd like to setup this unit as a entertainment center in your living room, it will meet your needs and expectations. My main concerns with this tiny unit was the thermals. I saw limited ventilation on the device and I was concerned that the device would overheat and the CPU would throttle. The PC started at 73.9F base temperature, and settled at 85.8F during idle. During which it was absolutely silent, and you wouldn't even notice it in the room. Once I started pushing the CPU I noticed the fan kick up in high gear. Although the fan did get louder, it was not to an annoying level. And the temperature never exceeded 96F nor did the CPU throttle it's performance. As long as the unit is placed in a location with plenty of airflow, I would expect no thermal issues. Out of curiosity, I ran a quick geekbench test to see the processing capability of this little giant and to see how much further I could push it. It scored an admirable 878 single core / 2875 multi core. Based on these capabilities I am planning on testing out more CPU intensive workloads on the device. They also managed to add a SSD and a HDD into the system. An incredible feat considering the size constraints. This allows for incredible storage performance from your SSD for frequent used programs, and a large capacity storage for archiving data. Even though the memory is only DDR4 8G, you can easily access and upgrade to more RAM. Only one out of 2 slots come filled, so there's a large room for expansion. Additionally there is an empty m.2 SATA slot that can be quickly upgraded with an additional SSD. Do be careful of the increased thermals of the unit if you upgrade. Note, I've attached pictures with teardown instructions for simple upgrades =) I will be working on additional use cases for the GT-R to take better advantage of the CPU performance ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Bigger is not always better and this mini-pc is a great example. I had a full tower serving as my main computer and family room HTPC and this was a very nice replacement. It has a small footprint with plenty of power. I no longer need this huge machine sitting on the floor. On occasion, I'll set up the system in my daughter's room for movie nights. The kids enjoy just sitting or laying on the bed and just knock out right afterwards. It's a very quick setup and it all fits perfectly on her dresser. With the AMD Ryzen 5 3550H CPU, it gives you 4 cores and 8 logical processors with a base speed of 2.10 GHz, which will boost up to to 3.7 GHz when needed, without any tweaking. This comes very handy for me when playing games and editing videos/pictures. The 8 GB of DDR4 RAM is sufficient, but I may add another 8 GB later on. It has the ability to support up to 64 GB, which can easily be expanded anytime. With the 256 GB solid-state drive, Windows 10 Pro comes up in mere seconds. The 1 TB hard disk drive is a decent size for data such as documents, music, pictures, and videos, but storage is also expandable, either by the expansion slots or an external drive. I really like the 6 USB 3.0 ports, especially since I have a couple of printers and external drives. The two ports in the front make it convenient for a thumb drive or connecting smart phones. There was definitely no waste by having the much slower USB 2.0 ports anywhere on this unit. The fingerprint reader is always a nice to have. It was very simple to set up and gets me logged in quickly. It can also be set up for multiple users, which is great for other family members. The two built-in microphones would work well enough for Cortana, but for online meetings or gaming, a headset would still be better. Regarding the heat dissipation, I was actually pleasantly surprised. With the 3 heat conduction tubes, 2 fans and the magnesium-aluminum alloy casing, the unit remained relatively cool even after hours of gaming. Of course, it's always best to keep the unit in a well ventilated area to avoid any overheating and do the occasional dust blowing\vacuuming if needed. While this does come with Wifi 6, I'm unable to take advantage of it currently. However, it does give me a good reason to go buy an Access Point that will support it. Finally, about the video capabilities. This comes with two HDMI ports, along with one DisplayPort. The capability of connecting three monitors out of the box using standard connections is a big plus. In addition, there's also a fourth display option via the USB Type-C port. The Radeon Vega 8 integrated GPU is decent for gaming. I played Fortnite at the medium settings and the gameplay was pretty smooth. I even tried it at the epic settings, but it was more grainy and choppier, which was expected. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase and look forward to seeing the longevity of this product. ... show more
