First year amateur bee keeper... so fully discount all I'm about to say: I looked at the manual extractors for more money and looked at high quality electric extractors that were $1k more... This does what is supposed to, and at a fair price but... cleaning it is pretty annoying. The stainless (I hope its actually stainless) tub and the crossbar on top have slight fitment issues; combine that with the most annoying hardware and you have an assembly process that requires a mixed drink and 2.5 curse words (a bolt that is bent 90 degrees and threaded on both sides... one side going through the tub and the other going through the top crossbar which holds the motor). The machine comes with an extra 90 degree bolt which is good, because if you needed to buy one as a replacement, you'd be properly screwed. The rheostat looks cheap but works to control the speed properly and the motor seems properly if not oversized for the task at hand. It took about 50 min for a novice to extract 10 deep frames (flipping manually and extracting again due to orientation) and then cleaning. To be fair once I was going I probably could have tripled that volume with just another 15 min or so per hive... but alas, my other hives were fresh splits and had nothing to offer me. (deadbeat bees always taking from the man. Anyway. If you don't mind supporting the CCP (acknowledging that anything American is 4x the cost), and you don't mind some inconvenience to clean it once done (but lets be honest, its once a year and you just aren't that busy and or important that the extra 20 min matter)... the boy oh boy is this thing for you. as an added bonus, if you ignore your wife and leave it in the kitchen at the end of the island, it is the perfect height to split your daughter's brown and require a doctor visit, copay, and stitches (so factor that into the cost of the machine. ... show more

5 gal bucket with strainer doesn't fit underneath the spicket. The only disappointment. Otherwise a good product

It is advertised as holding 8 medium frames but it doesn't, however it is well made and does a great job extracting the honey. there is very little vibration even at max speed. The motor seems to be very powerful and it is clutch driven which makes it a lot safer to operate. Overall it is a great extractor and the customer service is very quick to respond to questions or issues. ... show more

This small electric extractor is really well built, and nicely balanced. As you can see from the pictures, a standard 5 gal bucket fits under the spout. Easy to use controls, and really gets the job done. For the price, I highly recommend this spinner.

Putting it back together after a thorough cleaning is quite a challenge with the l shaped bolt coming up right under the electrical connection.. am I doing something wrong??
